Poor betting event yesterday a lot better today thankfully.
Rubi Light Has his ground today, but did he stay in the Lexus on good ground? Has a length to find on Captain Chris on Ryanair form in any case and although he has been a disappointing horse all season, today may be his day. Captain Chris. The grade 1 3miler looks tight but Ipsos will go in the ground and like him at the prices rather than the top 2 in the betting. Ipsos Du Berlais. 2 singles & a double. Good Luck all. |

6.05 - Clonbanan Lad @ 7/1 + 13/2 (Must have a big chance back on ground that will suit better than the festival)

wat do people think of the chances of summer star in the bumper....i thought she won a useful 4yo bumper in limerick on similar sort of ground....i think she has a great chance....
|
|
By:
Big step up into mixed open class, very much up against it here imho,

waheeb won the same limerick bumper last year and went down narrowly to a fancied mullins horse.....

5:30 - Rubi Light - goes well on Sft/Hvy ground and like the track too
6:40 - Tranquil Sea - again likes the ground 2 singles and an each-way double on those 2 4:55 - Cootamundra - bit of a left field selection this one. Should be massively outclassed but likes the track (form figs of 421) and also seems to prefer heavy ground. Not one to get stuck into obviously but hopefully runs a decent race and maybe sneak a place running on when everything else has cried "enough". Good luck everyone |

It's going to be called off i'd say
was very happy with my prices on Clonbanan Lad |

Still chucking down, looks bad alright, winds are expected to ease but would want to take the rain with them if they do.

miracle if it does go ahead premier and even if it does the ground is surely going to be deplorable, yesterday was pretty much a blood bath for the punters, todays ground lord knows?, the safe call would be another massacre.
Tomorrow seems to be forecasted for something similar wouldn't surprise if the rest of the meeting is washed out. |

Betfair `Will racing go ahead?' market already suspended - which suggests the decision to abandon has already been made - but no news of inspection outcome on any other sites yet.

By:
Chase course unraceable - first race 4:55 - just announced on RTE Radio 1 news.

It's going to be a miracle if there's any chases for the rest of the meeting if the weather forecast is correct, wettest week in ages

Time to start building a boat methinks,ATR pictures of the track make it look like they're going to struggle to even get through the truncated day.

I know people will think i'm looking for a reaction and this will be unpopular but i think Punchestown is a rubbish festival. There's no buzz that's attached to a festival, might be my imagination but seemed to be a better week years ago when it was a shorter week. Maybe i just had more of a interest in racing back then but too many bank races, filling hurdle races, bumpers and gimmicks now like that crazy loud music when a winner is lead back in take away from it.
|
|
By:
Do you go there often Rocketfingers?
Some of the banks races are terrible. That one yesterday is a woeful contest as is the ridiculous one where you can only enter if you own a plot of land in Kildare or something. The festival is packed with bumpers as well. The entry for the main races this year has been terrible and many are grade 1 in name only. |

Maybe rubbish a bit strong a word to use Temlett but i do think it's lost it's appeal and i do think strongly it's sub standard. I used to go there a fair bit yes, the last day i as there was the Friday maybe 3 or 4 years ago, big crowd and had a bit of craic. It does hold a candle to the Leopardstown meeting at Christmas for me.

See that selection box is going in the 4.05 at Perth, hard to equate the form, looks as if he has a fair place claim in it,rest don,t look anything out of the ordinary.
|

By:
If you've to come along after Cheltenham,Aintree & Fairyhouse there's always going to be a fatigue element for all concerned-including punters. The weather looks like applying a hammer blow this year
