Very quiet on here ahead of the NH coup de grace so thought I'd create a thread to try and generate discussion/debate.

Tomorrow's bets for me are as follows :

4.20 Alderwood @ 3/1
5.30 Realt Dubh @ 16/1 small e-w.

I've got my eye on one in the 4.55 but waiting on prices.

Any thoughts lads ?

Should add that I can't wait to see the 2013 Gold Cup winner run tomorrow.

Sir Des Champs.

Most of the races that were interestin me are walkovers now - only single play AntePost was Trifolium at 9/4 and 6/4 with the forecast given for lots of rain, lookin good now

Fields have cut up very badly in the other big races too unfortunately

Hurricane Fly, Sir Des Champs, Sizing Europe, Trifolium all appear to have nothin more than to turn up and canter round

Rory Anna will be my only day of race play tomorrow - proven on ground, fair mark, great ew chance i reckon Cool

Lashing rain in the Curragh area now, and thunder about also.
When did Barry O Connell acquire First To Boogie, as I see he has his colours for 18.05 bumper, this trained by Sam Curling, fell when clear in a p2p

Powers giving money back if 2nd to a Bolger horse in the first. Given that takes in the current 2nd and 3rd favourites, then Boxer Georg might be worth an interest??

I'd be happy if I backed a winner at Southwell or Lingfield but the interest in Punchestown today was virtually non-existent.

Betting shops (in my neck of the woods) were mostly empty and in two newsagencies there were hundreds of unsold copies of The Sun (free €5 matching bet).

I wouldn't just put it down to the poor betting value offered today; something worse apparent and i'd say all aggregates so far this year are suffering big-time off and on-course.

good day out.
a bit lacking in atmosphere for a festival but nice to have space to walk around etc.
good start with big shu , disapointed that the tote odds were cut from 24 down to 10 just at the off.
great race with alderwood , i had the 2nd at evens.
did a pin job in the handicap and missed with 3 but got a run with 2 of them so happy enough.
big race was fantastic, got a great ride with realt dub , was beat at the turn but thought he was coming back toward the last. good buzz in the stands.
stuck all my money a place at 5/4 on the tote the favourite for a place and that was that.
watched sir des parade and got out of there before the traffic.
pity i cant go the rest of the week.
anyone going will have a great time

Shocking card again tomorrow with wide open races on ground getting heavier by the hour.
Fickle Fortune is down to run in the big bumper, but Noel Meade seems to have lost the plot,he had her entered at Aintree as well in the 4day decs, she is getting loadz of weight and he should put up a claimer to take more weight off.........
Report neill d April 25, 2012 12:37 AM BST
I think 5 days is waaay too long as well and there are too many Graded races to the extent that they are being devalued, in fact, that seems to be a running theme in Irish racing as pointed out on the other thread.
Report jackdaws April 25, 2012 12:47 AM BST
Tomorrows card must be a big doubt imo.
Report Newmanix April 25, 2012 7:53 AM BST
I hope its on tomorrow, as I am heading there(and hopefully Friday).  Todays card is pretty poor and is a minefield to boot.  I was amazed to see the poor attendance there also.  I usually go on the Thursday, for the spectacle of the LaTouche and the ladiesDevil
