The bookies have Cavan as underdogs for tonight's U21 Ulster decider against Tyrone.

It's a repeat of last years final. Cavan as underdogs turned them over and went on to reach the All Ireland final.

It's the Breffni's third consecutive Ulster final appearance. They have been doing something right with their youngsters, whatever about their senior set-up I dont know.

Take Cavan at 2/1 to beat Tyrone tonight.

Well done thefly your in top form...what do you reckon of div 1 o/r betting..Think Kerry are underpriced at evens...Mayo will give them enough of it with likely Finalists Crk another evens your choice encounter...Cork at 2/1 outright  and half my stake again  on Mayo at 6/1 or 7s if you can punt with SJ or 365 is how i'll play.....no other o/r value although fermanagh 1/2 not the worst...

Cheers lads. Just gettin that bit of luck lately.

Of course coming into the game Tyrone deserved to be favourites having put Down to the sword (as richters mentioned) and before that they beat a Donegal team handy. But, it was hard to ignore Cavan at 2/1. Manager Terry Hyland has blood a new type of player in Cavan. They have been developing great minor and U21 squads the last few years and results show. Cavan were the underdog against both Armagh and Derry did not make sense to me. Great to see the Cavan supporters having something to shout about.

Ye timber Kerry at Evs does look underpriced. Mayo are playing well lately but note the game in Tralee last weekend was a dead rubber game to Kerry having secured a place in the last 4 before hand. Cork have disappointed me this year, but they should see off Down by a couple of points. Kerry / Cork final.. form will go out the window in that one!

Fermanagh have been the team of division 4 but I wouldnt be backing them at 1/2. Wicklow are as good as them in my opinion. I'd fancy Wicklow to just beat an improving Clare team and beat Fermanagh!

Cork are very seasoned and at this stage I'd say only September matters. I think there might be one last kick in them. Paul Kerrigan has been the most impressive forward I've seen in the league this year, seems to have developed a game very similar to Declan O'Sullivan, some man to carry the ball and kick a point. Given the few weeks that are in it, a touch of the John Egan about him as well.

On the topic of Cavan football - Interesting to see Val Andrews has resigned as Cavan Senior manager.

Banty must be ragin hot favourite for the next to go. Whether he is to stay on or not we will know in the next 24 hours...

Not sure what the story with val Andres was but cavans showings in Divv 3 were very dissapointing..I thought they would get promoted...not sure how young their team is...2 21 ulster titles & A minor is a fair turnaround in cavan Underage fortunes in the last 2 years considering the effort put into Tyrone etc & the largely 6 county dominated Mcrory Cup...

It's reported that the Cavan players voted against their manager continuing in his role...

Statement from Cavan County Board

"Following Cavan's exit from the Allianz National football league the senior inter county panel informed the management and board that it was their wish to have a players meeting to analyse their own personal performances from said campaign. The players had the blessing of both management and board to have this meeting.

"A number of issues arose from the meeting and following a discussion with Val Andrews he has decided to tender his resignation as Cavan Senior team manager with immediate effect.

"This decision is yet another example of the genuine interest and love Val Andrews has for Cavan football. Val feels that for the over all well being of the team which he worked selflessly with, a speedy decision is necessary to afford Cavan County board every opportunity to make alternative arrangements for the up coming Ulster Senior football championship and in doing so he wishes the best for Cavan football.

"The Chairman and Officer's of Cavan County Board who enjoyed a close relationship with Val would like to express our gratitude to him for his efforts in our County, and wish him and his Family health and good luck in the future."

I like the style of play Kerrigan plays too. He is very underrated. Counihan has picked him at centre forward this year rather than the wing and he plays the role brilliantly. His distribution is brilliant and running on the ball is a joy to watch. Will be interesting to see how they fair in the championship.

Cork at 5/1 with padraigs is value to me for all/ire...will be in munster final...2/1 o/r if they win...no more than 5s if they lose.....and either way youd fancy them to get to last 4...Dublin at 9/2 not bad either.....with all the improvement in other counties who are the threat to the big 3?...tyrone?..Kildare or mayo or donegal is that about it?..and hard to see any of the last 3 having the belief to pull it off so you could have cork 5/1 and dublin 9/2 as 2 of 4 possible winners in my eyes....

Ye themselves and Kerry have an easier passage than say Dublin or the Ulster counties.

Tyrone probably the next best? Solid league campaign and you would have to fancy them to regain the Ulster title. I'm not sure about Donegal producing the goods of last year. I'd be inclined to stay away from them. Down or Derry? Dont think they would be good enough to muster a challenge for the all ireland. Although Down played some good football and they are a division 1 team.

I think we will see a huge challenge from Mayo. They impressed me last year and I'd say they will be there, thereabouts come September.

Leinster.... Kildare... Waiting for them to do something. If they win Leinster you never know.

Watch out for Mayo! :)
