Legend of a horse, both on and off track.
That King George will never fade from my memory.
Shame.

That statement told us sfa.

1) How long has he missed covering this season.

2) How many mares did he cover this season.

3) What was his fee this season.

4) Is that sciatica as a result of a blow from a mare who took a dislike to him.

5) Gallileo is no doubt full. What other sire will benefit most. Maybe Pour Moi and what is his fee.

These are the answers that most readers want not such a bland statement.

His penis will be missed by all that had the pleasure of seeing it in action.

Great horse and great is a term thrown around too much. Before my time but from the videos I've never seen a mile-and-a-half horse that travelled better.

Word has it that his fee has come down quite a bit, in the region of €20,000 I heard. I know he would have been insured when he went to stud, in case he proved another George Washington and to cover the various shareholders, but anybody know if he still would have been insured at this stage? Some say he wouldn't have been but I would be surprised if he wasn't....

I don't think they insure because of the cost they would incur in insuring every stallion, I'd imagine the reasoning behind the non insurance would be that their band of stallions is strong enough to absorb this kind of occurance. Maybe they have different rules for Montjeu and Gallileo though but I doubt it, in the long term it would cost too much.
