Dont know the answer to that question but to me it looks like its Murtagh who is doing the training there now,its hardly poor Tommy Carmody

David Myerscough, but packed it in a couple of years ago. Don't know if anyone has been there in the interim.

Thanks just shows how hard it is when a talented young man with his connections can`t make it.

No harm Johnny being in the background while he is still riding.
There is precedent, in that Christy Roche was an ally with Mulhern and Paddy Burke before he launched his training career. |

I'd say he's as much in the background as Christy Roche was at Paddy Burkes' |

The first time I ever saw anyone have a monkey on a horse it was ridden by Tommy Carmody. The horses name was Rhytmic Pastimes-it was a Chepstow Saturday afternoon meeting, the odds were 4/5.I'd say it was around 1984.
The horse won under the most forceful ride I have ever seen. Thinking about it backing odds on paying 20 % tax must have been a hard game. |

He was an outstanding jockey,a joy to watch, with the poise of Paul Carbury and the strength of Ruby in a finish, the heavy fall at the 3rd last fence at Naas in his last race caused his premature retirement iirc.

he had a few problems when riding in england, was accused of being lazy not wanting to muck in over there, iirc, but a fabulous jockey and very stylish.
