Joe has improved too surely.

Here he is easily beating Russian in the European Final.

think Joe was 7/4 or 2/1 last year

Darren O'Neill has received a walkover tonight, you can still get 1/12 with Spoils. Silly

There could be real action tonight in Dublin.....especially if the travelling man doesnt win.....saying that Egans mob wouldnt be much better.....

heard boxing guru Mick Dowling tip Egan to win on the news.

He said in the last fight Egan had been docked 4pts and that's what cost him the win.

He said Egan has been traning well, and given that Dowling knows his stuff, my money is on Egan

Joe has achieved as much if not more than Egan already and is still 18. Watch how he handled the Russian above in a major final... Egan hedging his bets releasing his book last year and not after london. Joe all the way for me.

Good advert for Irish sport.....Wards and McDonaghs and Joyce all scrapping......all we are short are the slashhooks.......they should have held this at the point......Pavey Point even.....Bardo i hope ya didnt take Dowlings advice......he said the 4 points he was deducted cost Egan the last time.....shame he lost by 5 though......

Joe is world class talent but all people want to talk about is that he's a traveller. Good ole Irish bitterness

You will find that this Ward will be the same as every other traveller when it comes to it......they like hunting in packs.....they will knock spots off somebody who they can intimidate.......but when its put up to them they'l turn on their heels......beating some wannabe celebrity who is really some 2 bob drunk is hardly the definition of world class either.....

Sounds like a run of the mill Bog ball GAA match.

Lads, might Egan turn pro, he would draw money for sure but is it too late?

yeah probably,if I was him I'd do it though, he could make a handy few quid, he's a handsome affable kind of guy and I'm sure the sports department in RTE would be creaming themselves at the prospect

If Joe was to win a medal at the Olympics, would there be any chance he would do an Amir Khan and turn pro straight away? He looks a big puncher that would be well suited to the pro ranks. Though, given he is so young, I'd be guessing another whirl at the Olympics in 2016 would be the percentage call.

thought Egan was awful last night, with those wild swings hard to believe he won an olympic medal, didn't show any boxing class at all,but maybe it was down to his opponent.

sadly Egan is past it. 29-10 is a pasting. Ward is our great hope now. thought JJJ would have won, but just outboxed in round 1, and left too much to do in 2 and 3.
