Seriously, i like to go out have a few and have acted the maggot on many an occassion. They are like wild animals rampaging, the women are nothing other than vile. This is the culture we have bred, the do gooders are to blame. Limerick City is like Basra on a Saturday night, not a copper in sight.

I remember new years morning last year.  I was out with the dog for a walk and there was frozen puke everywhere, it was surreal.

well lads i have my own theory with regards the new gardai today and in particular the ones that have joined the force in the last 10 years .( not all of them but a good few )

In the last 15 years in Ireland  you have had in my opinion 5 categories of males and females aged between 17 and 30

1) academic ones , did well in their leaving cert went to university and went into well paid careers .
2) ones that weren  t as academic but were clever none the less and were blessed with good personalities , mainly went into business/sales roles and all made good money
3) ones that weren t academic but were blessed with being good with their hands and were as clever as the academic ones and had a willingness to work and earn good money . Mainly trades electrician , plumbers ect ect .
4) The scum of society who no matter what is done for them they wouldn t work to warm themselves and bum off the state when there was plenty of work going  and generally make a nuisence of themselves ( most likely the ones ye saw last night lads brawling on the streets )
5) and that leaves us with category 5 which lets just say weren t as bright as the ones in category 1 to 3 and yes you ve guessed it .... signed up to Templemore Tongue OutTongue Out

This country is a nation of addicts.

I am disgusted with are Drinking culture and I am barely early 20's. I refuse to be involved in drinking to excess just to fit in.

What a bizarre race we are

I applaud that Ruby, i still enjoy a few but my god it is just unreal out there. The women are like hyeenas, screeching shouting and looking for two lads to knock the block off each other. She will go home to her government paid flat/house and two to three kids and she is still early 20's. It is just disgusting.

It's not too bad down our way........the lads earning 1200/1400 a week on the buildings are down at least a grand a week. The Gardai got a bad intake for the last 10 years as people wouldn't work for low pay and with no recruitment it will only get worse..........The new roster system to cut out overtime will reduce Gardai on the streets further.
Report rubyisgodinthesaddle January 1, 2012 3:05 PM GMT
I can agree with that Ramon.

The question I ask is where is the education??.

I see all these lads going around smoking for no other reason than to fit in not socially as such but to be seen as "COOL". When they are spitting up blood in 30 years time and unable to swallow there food at the xmas dinner table with there Grandchildren then they realise how they have harmed themselves.

Drinking to excess can lead to Liver, Heart, Weight problems etc....more people I am sure die due to Drink than Drugs.

I love my pints of ****ss the same as any other Human, I like to socialize after work with Pints and watch a match and having dinner but this drinking to excess until you sick and then drink again after your sick is baffling. Its just a complete waste as your spending money drinking that you puke it all up and feel horrible the next day and moan that you feel bad despite knowing that you would arrive at this situation.

I not sure where you can go at the Weekend and not been taken over by idiots.

I have met many Foreign people thru college and there opinion of this country is the very bad. Racism and violence on a night out is a common thing.

I know plenty of lads that don't drink or smoke and have become total recluses due to gambling....poker by far the worse.
Report rubyisgodinthesaddle January 1, 2012 3:12 PM GMT
I agree with all of that Gant...do they even work?.

Never got into Poker online. Have a friendly game now and then with friends
Report GANT007 January 1, 2012 3:17 PM GMT
Most of them would work.
Report rubyisgodinthesaddle January 1, 2012 3:21 PM GMT
I just asked Gant because I be wondering where in the day would they get the time but since you said Poker i guessed i answered my own question.

poker took over my life, time and money for 6 years.  had some great wins in tournies, but fúck me, its definately not worth it. i drink most days, but i enjoy it.  heading out to connacht/leinster now in the cold and wind but hey what the heck
Report ReimerpYsatnaf January 1, 2012 4:22 PM GMT
I've all but given up playing poker too, used to play all the time. You end up being up all night and going to bed at stupid times, the hours are not very sociable and it takes up too much of your time.

Only drink on weekends, would have a few most Saturdays and some Sundays if i head out to watch the football. Have not had a drink since the Saturday before Christmas though Shocked

Would you agree with this statement.

Frankie Boyle

"Ireland is a nation of alcholics" it was in reference to ****ss or something. But i never forgot how it suck with me. We are a nation, Obama and the ****ss as the same with the Queen. I think we are so caught up in the drink culture that we do not realise how bad we actually are.

I personally think we are a nation of Alcholics, we do are socialising completely in sync with a pint or whiskey. We drink to excess, we have no shame about how we drink and worse of all we think it increase you manhood to drink more than anyone else. We complain about it but then we go right back and do it 5 days later.

Report squigs January 1, 2012 5:28 PM GMT
We are human, we all have our vices and heck a little gambling and drinking isn't going to ruin you in moderation.

It's awful that days celebrating the best of being Irish involve drink, if you dare go to the Paddy's day parade in town, the city is dangerous from about 2pm onwards it goes to the knackers who have been drinking since 9am. Someone told me Arthurs day is a great initiative and I thought how? it's a nuclear piss up on a Thursday evening, you wouldn't see it anywhere else. You wouldn't see Frank Lampard lifting the F.A cup and saying 'See you in Coppers'

I have lived in countries such as Australia which have their issues with the drink but Dublin is a bomb site many evenings a week. We have re thought our attitudes towards the likes of drink driving but yet we seem happy to glamorise serious binge drinking.
Report yourlack January 1, 2012 5:36 PM GMT
You dont see frank lampard lifting much these days.

i had the flu so didnt drink last night really annoyed me at the time

my runny nose is gone but i still have this annoying cough and sore throat

will proabably drink friday if im not sick

some people i know have being acting really wierd these days they would rather smoke dope on a weekend rather than socialise and theyll go on this dope binge for weeks were you wont see them for weeks as dope turns them into anti social clowns and when there on dope they actually act like dopes

i really hope this cough goes ive been laying in bed drinking lemsip tea eating soup eating soothers
