Firstly id like to say how much i think both Ruby and Willie are outstanding at what they do but some form of explanation concerning thousand stars and there tactics yesterday should be given.
Was it just a bad day at the office but WHY ride a horse who is clear best in the field, stays 3 miles plus and won easily when dictating the pace from the front on his previous start. so why decide to ride it for pace out the back in a race run very slowly !! id love to know if willie requested those tactics or left it to ruby but either way ruby got totally shown up in what was a very poor piece of race riding imo.
I know everyone makes mistakes and yes i did back him but only for small money which i knew was gone after 3 hurdles. Very Frustating viewing

Just proves even the legend that is RW is fallible,my guess is that he tried to win it cheekily and PT outfoxed him,I read somewhere else the horse is 0/4 runs at Leopardstown so maybe just doesn't act fully on the track.
On a sidenote it would have been even more interesting if Oscars Well would have been ridden for a turn of foot as opposed to the way Thousand Stars should have been ridden  |

very true...both should have been ridden the other way around and it would have been interesting...I think Oscars Well will win a decent race this season somewhere.

BUT ...not over 2 miles p.s a lot of mullins horses were given strange tactics this week(sous... a case in point)

I agree 100% very strange ride has often front ran in the past and was very good front running last time. Just when willie was starting to look unbeatable in ireland he comes back to them a bit had 4 odds on shots beaten i think. Maybe they are sick?

totally agree giant strides, the hypocrisy is often nauseating, Walsh wallowing in the public adoration after Kauto's win, another day he'd cut the back off the public, the one they like to effectionatedly ridicule by the constant use of the term "Pocket Talker".

There was wind and rain at Leopardstown yesterday which made it near impossible to make all the running,i think it was Paul Townends boxing in of Thousand Stars that done for him.

my point been yourlack, the likes of Walsh and his ilk are quite happy to wallow in the publics adoration when it suits them but dare we complain? and we're instantly dismissed as pocket talking morons, hypocrisy two facedness call it what you want!.
