G'castle at 9/4 with PP looks excellent. Brigids have had an intensive period of weeks, I think they have played 9 games or something in the space of 12 weeks between the Dub SFC and their Leinster campaign that is some going, this might just take its toll today. I'm going for the Athlone side to claim Westmeath's first ever Leinster club title.

Any opinions??

In command at half time 0-6 to 0-1. Brigids arent at the races at all, Garrycastle look the hungrier side. Terrible conditions, no footballer should be playing a provincial final deep into December.

Anyway hope Garrycastle keep this going phantom!!

Congrats to Garrycastle! Brigids were horrid unlucky, they will rue their scoring account in the opening half. It was a game of two halfs really, G'castle ahead 0-6 to 0-1 at the break and Brigids outscore them 1-2 to 0-9 in the second half. Garrycastle got the rub of the green at the death. Exciting finish but what was the Brigids player doing fouling your man, Ill never know!

It will be some match up in February, Roscommon kingpins St. Brigids and Westmeath kingpins Garrycastle, close rivals, cousins against cousins.

I was praying Dessie wouldnt take the match winning free at the end, delightful flashbacks of 10 years ago came backLaugh (Meath v Westmeath-pressure kick).

Fair play to the ref for making a tough and correct call with the free at the end. I'd say the Brigid's player who fouled will be feeling low this evening, absolutely ridiculous free to concede.

Well done Garrycastle.

Aye fly was some sweat at the end. The Garrycastle lads were dead on their feet at the end and got out of jail. It was a ludicrous free to give away. I have no doubt St.Brigids would have won and won well if extra time was played. As for the semi final will be some buzz around the place. Nevermind the Westmeath Roscommon divide its Athlone East V Athlone West. Most of the lads on both sides know each other and were in school together as well.

Athlone the place to be over the Christmas then Phantom eh?Grin I can imagine the buzz that will be around the town up 'til February. The game everyone will want to be at.

PP go Brigids 4/6 Draw 13/2 Garrycastle 13/8. With such a mass clash of rivalry form will go out the window, there will be no love lost. I think the match between Dessie and Frankie will be the decider, who has their shooting boots on. Senan Kilbride is a class act, as we seen last year he was a handful in the final for Cross.

A tense affair expected so a good bet maybe the yellow card count or a red or two to be dished out.

I believe Garrycastle is a small club with a small catchment area so i too am delighted.
There has always been rivalry between counties that border each other but i had great time for the Offaly hurlers.I liked the way they played and their unorthodox attitude  to training, also the fact that they nearly all came from a tiny part of west Offaly.
