Good value :
Spending time in a Betting Shop and either, not betting at all or placing very infrequent, small (less than 50c), bets. Watch major sporting events live in reasonable comfort whilst enjoying free tea/coffee biscuits, all at the expense of a Bookmaker. Particularily recommended are Boils and Powrs emporia. Bad value : Betting (apart from the style suggested above). |

I should add the caveat that the above advice is for people who, for whatever reason, have a lot of free time on their hands.

A friend of mine once sent in a money-saving tip to "You And Your Money", Eddie Hobbs consumer advice magazine. He advised consumers to browse the magazine in-shop without paying for it. They never printed it.

Remember being in a bookies in Dundalk one Saturday , years ago , produced a whole tray of sausages and sausage rolls . They were good too , but prefer a winner myself given the choice .
