brutal penos??
There's a reason why a Goalkeeper is supposed to stay on his line for peno's,absolute disgrace how thats allowed, and Dan is correct, that Richardson thing is some can off urine,he was defending the Sligo keeper for coming off his line during the peno's,"ah everyone does it" That doesnt mean it not illegal, muppet |
|
By:
they were sh!te penos! no power behind them and not even in the corner!!
no goalie stays on their line EVER, illegal or not!! its a poor excuse!! shels players bottled it! |
|
By:
ilwab,it always makes me laugh when people say they were shíte peno's,there all great penos when they hit the back of the net,ive yet to see a shíte peno hit the back of the net, when they go in their great peno's,regardless if there struck poorly or not, would you not agree??i didnt see the Shels keeper come off his line in that shoot out,the Sligo keeper was so obvious in coming off his line,it wasnt even as if he was slightly off it,im sure your opinion would be exactly the same if this was ireland who were beat in this manner against Estonia, the simple fact of the matter is,its illegal for a GK to come off his line when facing a penalty, and not every keeper does is,so your arguement is just silly, and even if they did,its still wrong as its illegal

fair enough OTS but as penos go i thought they were poor and to blame the keeper coming off his line is poor imo!
there was no conviction in the missing penos!! sure the occasion can get to u but BOTH penos were poor!! eitherway its good to have shels back in the premier division! |
|
By:
Was at the game today and while I agree that there was little conviction behind either of the missed Shels penos the Sligo keeper kicked the ball up to the half way line just as Kevin Dawson was bending down to pick the ball up in advance of taking his. It was really poor sportsmanship and I think the incident upset Dawsons concentration.Great effort from Shels with 10 men.

Btw, congrats to Rocketfingers and Sligored. Its hard for me to say this being from Galway...

winters ruined the game with his sending off,the standard is getting worse by the year, well done to the sligo lads and enjoy your night
|
|
By:
wouldnt mind the keeper coming off the line a step or 2 but jayses i dunno how he kept getting away with it when it so obvious
|
|
By:
the officals are a joke, pointless!!!
im still yet to see an offical behind the goal to make any meaningful contribution!! shels did play v well with 10 men!! |
|
By:
agree ilwab, there a waste of space there to be honest, anyway as you say, good to have Shels back in the top flight, and wouldnt be at all surprised if there were to challenge for the League next season, cant see them winning it with the money Rovers will have from Europe, but one or two decent signings will see them have a good go anyway imo

thanks newmanix - not a great match but a great weekend . For whats its worth i thought the sending off was justified , but ciaran kelly coming off the line should have led to retaken pens .
Congrats to shels on a great effort(except the time-wasting), but i think they will be a great addition to the premier league next year. As an aside , i wish the best of luck to galway , bohs and finn harps in their current difficulties and am sure clubs like these will return to former glories because they have proper fans. |

Having watched a number of replays of the 2 yellows card that led to the sending off I think Ritchie Winter got it stop on-both were yellow card offences.

On The Snaff Shels will be mid table at best next season.
