This lad is an improver who took an age to win his maiden but was impressive when he did,he followed up with an easy win in a Navan handicap. He was raised 15 pounds for that and carried this extra burden in a handicap at Leopardstown last sunday,he missed the break completely, made his ground up steadily and then his jockey[man of the moment] made a critical mistake,he went up the rail and into the worst of the ground, the others went over for the better ground. All things considered i thought it was some effort and many will scoff at the thought of Fred Fenster winning a listed race he is improving and comes from a stable in form and is a working mans price.
Fred has always been a little slow outta traps even in navan when winning with a penalty on the day that Johnny Ward said he was a cert he was slow away....decent horse but not for me 2day.....goodbye flat season let the real racing begin
