iI think he may have just won but booking Pat Smullen for Justification and punting it while Seamie Heffernan is on the outsider shows some animis between them.

Isn't Smullen AOB's brother in law?

Makes sense he'd want to help him win the jockeys title if possible.

Correct i have wronged them so.ATR abandoned Dundalk so i kind of let the race go but just spotted the gamble on Justification and was going to join in for the wrong reasons but they were off.
Thanks Princesse D`Anjou bearing in mind my thread about the Lavender Hill Mob i should have known better.

I think you're right wmfb. Smullens been his brother in law for years but I'm almost sure that's his first ever winner for o'Brien.

Surely a case of them wanting to try and prevent Murtagh from becoming champion? Heffernan is also out of favour there, if you believe the rumour mill.

How Murtagh is even remotely close to being champion jockey is beyond me! Shocked

Why? The only riders to come close to him this year in terms of quality rides were Smullen (whose second) and Joseph (who can't do the low weights). Seems fairly straight forward to me anyway.
