Think roberto goldback has a good chance, couldnt have cooldine. Mount benbulben will be a short price to make up for his mishap the last day. A few on here were saying carberry would lose the ride. Delighted he has kept it.

Some comments from irish racing dot com......

13:25 - 2m Templemore Mares Maiden Hurdle
Rising Time (6/4), Back In A Tic (31/10), Ut Love (29/5), Eyesontheprize (32/5) - Others 41/5 or more.
It's between Nolan's promising mare Rising Time (on her hurdling bow) and Back In A Tic (P Townend nice book of rides today) when she ran 2nd here 2 weeks ago (her 6th time over hurdles) to Gigg's Sea Of Thunder.

13:55 - 2m 6f Class 1 John Meagher Memorial Chase (Listed)
Cooldine (9/4) , Roberto Goldback (5/2) , Joncol (11/4) , Psycho (6)  Clan Tara (20).

Joncol and Cooldine are two big names due to contest this Listed Chase.
That pair are joined in the line-up by Psycho, Roberto Goldback and Clan Tara.

Roberto Goldback was last seen in action when contesting the Guinness Gold Cup at the Punchestown when desperately unlucky to part company with Robbie Power at the last. He has since left the Jessica Harrington yard and tomorrow he'll have his initial outing for Dessie Hughes. "We're looking for a good run. It's a nice race to start him off. The conditions of the race suit him reasonably well, but also suit Cooldine very well. We have to give him 10lb so we'll see."

Paul Nolan is hoping Joncol can get back on track when he has his first race since February.
The trainer believes the 2010 Leopardstown Hennessy winner's problems have been resolved, and is looking forward to a decent performance.
"We're very pleased at the moment with Joncol. We are hoping we can get him back to running up to scratch again," said Nolan. "He was disappointing last season and we've sorted out some problems.

"We're hoping he'll give a good account of himself. He's a big horse and we haven't had as much work on grass with him as we'd have liked because of the ground until up to a couple of weeks ago.
"He will come on for the run, but he's in good health and seems well in himself."

14:25 - 2m Irish Stallion Farms E B F Beginners Chase
Twinlight (2) , Grey Soldier (40/17) , Cass Bligh (28/5) , Oscar Dan Dan (6)  - Others  23/2 or more

Not looking beyond the fav ! even though ODD is a 150 rated Hattons Grace winner

14:55 - 2m 2f Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Chase (0-109)
Prince Of Milan (7/4) , Paddy O Dee (6) , Clare Gent (8) , Mick The Tooth (8)  - Others  10 or more

15:25 - 2m 2f Cashel Maiden Hurdle
Mount Benbulben (13/18) , Golanbrook (8/5) , Serein (6) , Hasty Times (39/5)  - Others  43/5 or more

MB one of our best novice hurdling prospects better show us how he "settles" under Paul (again) today ??? Can see Golanbrook and Townend surprise !

15:55 - 2m 0f Holycross Handicap Hurdle (80-95)
Mackey Boy (7/2), Monahullan Prince (4), St Killians Run (5), Would You Do That (8) - Others 10 or more

Mr D A Johnson will be watching closely as his St Killian's Run takes his chance here rather than Chasing up in Down Royal on Friday.

16:25 - 2m 0f Toboradora Flat Race
Morning Royalty (13/16) , Aves (7/2) , Wolf Hall (41/10) , Too Scoops (32/5)  - Others  37/5 or more

This is the time of the year to take on Willie Mullins horses one winner from the last 16 days (all be it a lot of them placed)
1.55 -Cooldine- yet to win in 9 races since rsa victory in 2009,even with wind op and in receipt of weight can't be having him @3.2
2.25-Twinlight-Looked very limited to me over hurdles-surprised if he gets around.joke price @3.0
4.25 -Morning Royale-Good run on good ground at punch in may, different ball game tomorrow in soft ground ,happy to lay him at odds on against opposition from respescted stables.

If the ground is heavy then Hans Cresent is a ferocious price at 10's with Boyles. Only has one horse to beat in the fav.

Roberto Goldback looks the most solid punt in the Listed Chase. Was the best of these last year and has the least number of questions to answer.

Think it's going to heavy as opposed to forecast soft tomorrow,Mount Belbulban would have to settle a bit better here as he was very free lto which contributed to his demise, they're mopping up the ridiculous prices available here already.I'll only get involved if the price is better in the morning.

Cass Bligh might be worth a tickle E/W with BJG on board, won over hurdles here and handles bad ground.

Before any of you moan about it after the race, you can expect Mount Benbulben to be buried by Carberry again in an effort to get him settled.

I won't be getting involved today as short prices in Maiden Hurdles aren't for me no matter how good I think Mount Benbulben is.

Like these today:

12.55 Eyesontheprize won a 2m Navan bumper on heavy in February after a 10 month layoff (form well advertised by 3rd, 4th and 5th since) and she comes into this race fresh once again and looks to have her ground. After that Navan win she was then thought good enough to take her chance in the listed mares bumper at Aintree, where she finished 8th of 18 on good ground. She put in another good effort on her next start in bumper at the Punchestown festival on ground that was probably quicker than ideal, staying on for 7th. Form of those that finished in first 10 and have run since looks good though. The winner was placed in a Punchestown bumper next time out. The 3rd won his next 2 starts (1 bumper and 1 maiden hurdle). The 6th was runner-up in a Leop flat race next time. Behind Eyesontheprize in 8th was Laganbank who has gained 3 wins and 2 places from 5 runs since and looks a nice novice hurdler. The 9th gained 2 wins and a 2nd from next 3 runs while the 10th has run twice over hurdles since, finishing 3rd and 1st. Eyesontheprize encountered good to firm ground again on next start in a 2m Wexford bumper where she again looked outpaced on the fast surface. She stayed on for 4th and again form look decent. The 1st and 2nd have both run well over hurdles since, the 3rd won a bumper next time and the 5th has won a maiden hurdle since. Eyesontheprizes is by Shantou who won 3 of the 4 races he ran on softer ground, including a group 1 on heavy, so no surprise that she appears better on softer ground which she’ll get today. Barry Geraghty booked is a positive, though Fahy doesn't have a great record here at Thurles.

1.25 is a seriously good listed chase. 2 multiple grade 1 winners in Cooldine and Joncol running with Roberto Goldback and Psycho also graded winners over fences and Clan Tara a useful sort in his own right. Tough race to find a bet as hard to know how fit the main players will be. Cooldine been an unplaced favourite on his season debut last 2 years and hasn’t won a race since the RSA in 2009, though as a result he gets 10lbs from his main rivals. Joncol was very disappointing first time out last year, finishing a remote 4th of 4 in a 2m Fortria chase, where you got the distinct feeling Nolan was using the race to get him fit, no guarantee it won’t be same in this.
Roberto Goldback has finished 1st-2nd-2nd on seasonal bow for last 3 years and has a strong record in chases in Ireland over 2m4f or further when completing, 3 wins and 5 places from 8 starts, however he has failed to complete in 4 of 14 runs over fences, most recently when looking to hold every chance when unseating at the last in the Punchestown Gold Cup. His only run at Thurels was a neck 2nd to Follow The Plan in the Kinlcoh Brae, so we know he likes it here. Psycho’s recent form doesn't look up to winning this, was 40 lengths behind Roberto Goldback when they met here in the Kinloch Brae in January. Clan Tara looks up against it at the weights and is still fairly inexperienced over fences.
Roberto Goldback looks to hold the most solid claims all things considered however I wouldn’t rate him as talented as either Joncol or Cooldine, but just think he’s more likely to be fit and ready to win this on his first run this season. 11/4 Boyles

2.25 Twinlight is an exciting prospect from the Mullins yard on his chase debut. Mullins has saddled 3 runners in this beginners chase in last 10 years, all 3 have won. Twinlight is nicely bred, most was placed in group ocmapny on flat in Germany and her father Muhtathir was a top class group 1 winning miler who has sired some nice jumps horses like Kruguyrova (won Kingmaker, 2nd Arkle) and Salder Roque (grade 1 hurdles winner). Twinlight is having first run for 138 days but hse’s proven she can go well fresh over hurdles. Her 2 runs after a break of over 3 months were a neck 2nd in a listed hurdle and a 3 length win a grade 3. She’s won on soft and looks the one to beat, though being a beginners chase only a small bet.

2.55 Tawrific Laois (each way) looks to hold a good each way chance in this handicap chase. He finished a clear 2nd in the race last year off a mark of 90 and races off just 1lb higher today. He was beaten 17 lengths by the winner Wicklow Lad that day but in hindsight there was no shame in that as Wicklow Lad ended the season by winning a value Navan handicap chase off a 29lbs higher mark, so was clearly thrown in off his mark in this race last year. Tawrific Laois finished 19 lengths clear of the rest and 3rd and 4th both won off higher marks later in the season. Tawrific Laois followed up that run by finishing 2nd in a Cork handicap chase off 93 and then winning a 2m2f handicap hurdle on soft back here at Thurles. He had his next run over fences on first run this season when getting badly hampered and unseating 4 out in a 2m4f Clonmel handicap chase on good ground. He still looked in need of the run last time when 4th in a 2m2f Downpatrick handicap chase off 91 (same race he prepped in last year before finishing 2nd in this. He’s proven on soft, has won at Thurles and over this 2m2f trip. He’s only 1lb higher than 2nd in this last year and 4lbs claimer Shane Butler was on board for his last win, here at Thurles. Last 5 winners of this race have all carried low enough weights so I think Tawrific Laois off a low weight could be a good each way at 14/1 Boyles.

4.25 Corbally Ghost was 2nd in a decent looking p2p on debut over 3m on yielding to soft, 4th won next time out and 5th was 2nd on next completed start. Corbally Ghost started his career under rules in a 25,000 bumper at the Fairyhouse National meeting on good ground and was well backed, 8/1 to 5/1 but had nothing left to give coming into the straight and was well beaten in the end. Willing to forgive him that run and think he should be better suited by the soft ground today. Both Noel Meade’s runners in this race in last 10 years won it and Nina Carberry riding is an obvious plus. 6/1 Ladbrokes

I'd be all over Cooldine on his best form in the big race but he's a shocking record fresh and it must be a case of watching him today and seeing how he gets on. Joncol fits the same profile which may mean Roberto Goldback is the one to follow. Its a nice race but probably a watching one. Twinlight, who is quoted in the Arkle Trophy betting, looks the one to beat in the beginners chase despite the fact that Mullins' horses, as tradition goes, aren't firing at this early stage of the season.

13:25T - Sanforized @ 12/1 E/W Up against a couple of useful mares but was running a blinder in a CD Maiden Hurdle last November, she was still cruising when tripping over a rival on that occasion and ran as though badly in need of the run on her return to action at Galway the other day.  She rates the best E/W bet of the day for me

Rising Time for Paul Nolan looks a lovely sort in the Mares Maiden Hurdle but she may need a run, wouldnt take much to make a winning hurdling debut though.

Paddy Mullins should do an aul jig in the bumper, Morning Royalty; the bumper in which he came out of is one to keep an eye on, Don Cossack (now with Gordon Eliott) was 5th and came out and won last weekend.

Hoping Roberto Goldback can stay on his feet today!

Best of luck lads, have a good day!

" Thurles on a Thursday " to wet the appetite for what looks a cracking two days racing up north .....Ye should have a good one Norn LaughLaugh
Some inpressive declarations tomorrow including two of my favourite national hunt horses that were good to me last season Oscars Wells and Dazzling Susie .....

Back to today only having one bet  ....Cass Bligh 2.25 beginners chase 4/1 ....... Course bumper winner on heavy,  128 hurdler and BArry Geraghty booked which tells me he s ready to go first time .....really like the look off his 2 length second to Pittoni in a handicap hurdle in Lepordstown in February aswell . I m not gone on the opposition either so if he takes to the jumps will take all the beating
