Just looking through the cards and Christy Roche's in the Bumper looks interesting, second in its only run behind Owega Star beaten 2L at Killarney looks better after what we saw today, has a break to overcome and with the high profile connections of the likely fav might go off at a better price than it should.
Folsom Blue in the second race looks like it might have a good chance in the 2ml 4f Maiden.
At Leopardstown Famous Name has had a lot of hard races this year and might be worth opposing in the Listed.
One that i really like in Leopardstown is in the last race , Leroy Parker 4 / 1 , missed the 5 s that was with powers last night .
Horse that really needs soft ground and is still well handicapped imo ...
I backed him the last say at Navan and i didn t understand why Fran Berry who had him in a perfect position on the outside switched him back up the inside coming up the straight when all the winners that day were coming up the outside ....... he still made up a lot of ground to finish a close up fourth and handicapper has him only up 1 lb . Sun Disc will be the one to beat but he s now 18lb higher than when winning a few runs back

agree with you norn about Hadaasa in the listed race .... I think she s a cracking each way bet at 9 s and i d be even more interested in her w/o famous name ....Powers usually price a market w/o ....She was seriously punted the last day in the one mile listed race at naas 10 s into 7/2 favourite ....she only got to the front 100 yards from the line and won going away like a filly that will thrive over the extra 2 furlongs today . Loves a bit of ease in the ground so no worries on that front . She ll need to raise her game to beat Famous Name so each way at 9 s and a good bet w/o ........

One i like in the app handicap is adams return. Ground should certainly suit and has course form. Was perhaps given a little bit too much to do lto, when doing its best work at the finish. Plenty capable jockey on board today plus well drawn. Def think it will run a big race.

2.15 Wexford. Key horse here seems to be Apalachicola, impressive winning its maiden ought to again hold tear drops, same comment on her previous 3rd ought to hold sugar bullet who was well behind.Negatives her win was on good, lack of a recent run and extra 1/2 mile today. Madame Mado,s Mallow run was eye catching, came through at the death with plenty left in the tank, trip and ground no worries with her and a live danger. Leaves us with Madame Bovary, proven trip and ground, lot to like in the way she stayed on in her two wins.Had subsequent winners alexander nevsky and local celebrebity behind in penultimate run and won with a bit in hand lto. 5/2 looks a very fair price. gl today

1.00 Princess Highway could be the bet for this open maiden, which has been dominated by the big stables (last 10 runnings have been won by Oxx, O’Brien, Bolger and Weld). Dermot Weld has the best recent record, he has saddled 1 runner in each of the last 6 runnings, gaining 3 winners, 2 seconds and 1 third, 2 of those winners were having their first ever run. Princess Highway has a nice pedigree, being by Street Cry, whose 2yos can win first time out, as shown this season by the likes of Sweet Solera winner Discourse who won first time out, Fillies Mile winner Lyric Of Light won first time out plus several others. Princess Highway a half sister to Mad About You who won on her racecourse debut in a maiden over this CD before finishing placed in 2 group 1’s (Moyglare Stud & Marcel Boussac) as a 2yo. This is clearly no soft touch with representatives from O’Brien, Oxx, Bolger and several other yards prone to saddle 2yo winners here but with Weld’s recent fine record in this maiden and Princess Highway’s nice pedigree, she looks the pick at hopefully nice odds. 3/1 VC is a disappointing price.
1.30 sees the return of Sea The Star’s ¾ brother, Born To Sea, who looks the most likely winner of this group 3. John Oxx’s 6 runners in this in past 10 years have produced 2 winners, 1 second and 1 third and the manner of Born To Sea’s win in the Listed Blenheim Stakes on first ever start was very impressive (6th from that race has come out and won a listed race since). Saying that Nephrite was an impressive winner of a competitive 24 runner Curragh maiden on his first ever start and one horse that ran in both races was Lanett Lady who was 5 lengths behind Born To Sea but 7 lengths behind Nephrite, on same terms with both. You can expect big improvement from any Oxx and O’Brien 2yo from first run to second and as a result I wouldn’t be interested in having a bet in this, though the way the form of Nephrite’s impressive maiden win is working out, does make him a serious contender to beat Born To Sea. (O’Brien won this 8 times in last 15 years)
2.00 looks a wide open nursery and you can make a case for several. Antiquus made up for an unlucky defeat on his second last start when winning last time but up 6lbs and dropping in trip are 2 factors that look against her as she appears to need 1m. Willie McCreery has won the last 2 runnings so Coolnagree with Smullen booked deserves respect though looks more exposed thatMcCreery’s last 2 winners. Another trainer who has done in this is Kevin Prendergast who trained the winner in 2005 & 2008 and Jimtown might prove the better of his two runners in this. Jimtown put in two solid runs on first 2 outings in 7f maidens at Leop and Gowran before finishing 4th in a good quality maiden in a 7f Curragh maiden on soft, beaten 7 lengths by Royal Lodge winner David Livingston. Form of the others around him that day looks good as 2nd Newbury Hall was 2nd to Apollo next time, 3rd Learn has won since and was 4th in RP trophy while the 5th has also won since and 6th was placed on 2 runs since and is now rated 80. Jimtown made his handicap debut in a 7f Gowran nursery on good ground when keeping on well to finish a half length 2nd off 78. Form of the race boosted by 3rd going down by less than a length off 4lbs higher next time, the 4th won since off 2lbs lower and the 6th was a good 3rd in a Dundalk maiden on Friday night. On his last 3 starts Jimtown has run over a mile and in each he has looked a serious player passing the 2 furlong pole but had little left to give as they entered the final furlong, suggesting that a mile stretches his stamina. The drop to 7f should suit today and he is only running off 1lb higher than when a close 2nd on his handicap debut. Soft ground should not be a problem and if Sam James who is taking off 5lbs, can get Jimtown into a good early possie from stall 11, he can go close. Jimtown 11/1 VC
3.05 is an open maiden and market will be interesting. Few of these have fair form already in the book such as Golden Hill, Fatcatinthehat and Thomas Gainsborough but O’Brien has a good record in this and it might be worth giving I Have A Dream another chance despite a very disappointing debut. His two half brothers Syrian and Kilburn were both winning 2yos. His ¾ brother is Popmurphy was runner-up in a listed race on soft to heavy while his full sister Classic Legend won the listed Montrose Stakes over a mile on this weekend in 2007 on her second start. I Have A Dream was sent off favourite for a 1m Curragh maiden on soft first time out but like so many O’Brien 2yos he looked badly in need of the run, missing the break by 3 lengths and then racing green before making moderate headway after getting bunched among horses. He finished well back but wasn’t asked to do much in the final 2 furlongs when he had no real chance of landing a blow. You can expect a good bit of improvement today and he might be another O’Brien 2yo to win second time out after a poor first run but I'll wait to see the market get formed before deciding if there's a bet to be had. 13/2 VC
3.40 Ted Dolly (small each way) was a fast finishing 3rd in a mile handicap at this meeting last year and should have conditions to suit today. He gained his last win in a 1m Naas handicap on yielding to soft off 72 in June. His only other run over a mile on ground with soft in the description was in a 1m Curragh handicap in September, when going down a short head off 79. His last 2 flat stats on soft ground have been decent efforts in 5th over an inadequate 7f. He was a good 2nd in a Galway maiden hurdle on heavy last time out, so he comes into this race in good form. Joanna Morgan has her horses in good form and though this is a highly competitive handicap, 16/1 about Ted Dolly looks worth a small each way bet considering he runs off 80, which only 1lb higher than when beaten a short head on his last start under these conditions. 16/1 Boyles
4.10 Cloudgazer should be competitive off current mark and 1m4f looks like it could the ideal trip for the son of Dalakhani. He improved plenty on his debut to stay on strongly and to win a 1m2f Navan maiden in June, showing good determination to hold off the 2nd Aragorn Rouge with the pair pulling 2 lengths clear of the 3rd Sam Lord’s Castle, who has finished 2nd on 2 runs since and now rated 80. Cloudgazer made his debut in handicap company here over 1m6f on soft off a mark of 82. He was pushed along rounding the home bend but looked to be coming into the race 2 furlongs out but had little left to give in the final 200 yards, coming home in 4th. Form boosted by the 3rd getting placed on next 2 starts. He was dropped to a mark of 80 for his last start in a 1m 2f Curragh apprentice handicap. He was held up early but when brought to the outer a furlong out he stayed on to good effect, beaten less than 4 lengths in the end but looking in need of further. Form of the race looks good as 4th and 5th both won next time out off same marks while the 1st and 7th were both placed off higher marks next time. Cloudgazer has dropped to a mark of 79 for today’s run and should be suited by the 1m4f trip. Dec McDonogh is booked to ride and he has won on 5 of the 23 runners he’s been on for Meade in past 5 seasons, and won on his ride on a Meade 3yo. 10/1 Paddy Power

Yes Twirl will almost certainly win an Oaks trial after that Maiden Performance. That was a superb debut and looks to have serious gears. Head a bit akward but she is a beautiful looking filly. A supermodel

Flynn and Barry in hot water at Wexford By Thomas Weekes Sun 30th Oct 2011, IRISHRACING.COM
Trainer Pat Flynn and jockey Shay Barry have been hit with a fine and suspension respectively by the Stewards at Wexford today, following the running and riding of eleventh placed Mister Music Man, which finished 37l behind winner Savello in the opening maiden hurdle. The report reads:
"The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Mister Music Man, ridden by J.R. Barry, and trained by Mr Patrick Joseph Flynn.
Evidence was heard from the rider and the Trainers Authorised Representative. J.R. Barry, stated that Mr Flynn was out of the country but had instructed him to jump off in mid division, get his mount jumping, creep into the race and ride to finish as best as possible. He added that his mount had shown plenty of ability in earlier days and had won a bumper at Downpatrick, but having switched to hurdling he was most disappointing especially the last day at Gowran Park.
Today he jumped off towards the rear and travelled well until the top of the hill and following a drive he emptied going to the second last flight. From this flight he said he gave his mount a nudge to quicken but had nothing to offer and he sat up before the final flight but drove his mount from the last to the winning post. In his opinion this gelding is of limited ability.
Mr Michael Gunn, Authorised Representative of Mr Patrick Joseph Flynn attended this enquiry on his behalf and stated that the instructions were as given.
He confirmed that the gelding looked impressive when winning his bumper. He works well at home and has not experienced any veterinary problems of note. He added that he is very familiar with this geldings career and could only express overall disappointment since his only victory. He was satisfied with J.R. Barry’s riding and considered that the grazes received in running were of no consequence and post race normal was an acceptable veterinary assessment
The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer who stated that Mister Music Man was post race normal except for some grazes on his left fore cannon and right carpus.
Having viewed the video of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the trainer and rider were in breach of rule 212.
They suspended J.R. Barry for 7 racedays and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee. They fined Mr Flynn, through his Authorised Representative €1,000 and suspended Mister Music Man for 42 days
