I am going to be doing a work placement in Cork City at the beginning of January. As it is temporary I am looking to rent for 5 weeks. The placement is in Glasheen about half a km or so from Cork University Hospital. I am looking for somewhere in the Glasheen/Wilton area. Any advice from any patrons here would be much appreciated regarding where best to place advert and so on.

Alright, boy.

I'm a long time out of Cork but here's my tuppence worth.

Advertise in the Hospital, UCC, Cork IT, Wilton Shopping Centre.

There's a place near UCC on the Bons Hospital side that's like a mini-village, which is expensive but if they have a place short-term it could suit you.

Somewhere near Hartlands avenue would probably be ideal for you.

Thanks, I have numbers for both accommodation officers within CIT and UCC so will be in touch with them both. I was going to advertise all right in Wilton shopping centre its a tescos right? Where within hospital can one advertise exactly?

might be something there, maybe worth giving a ring and inquiring given the shortness of your stay.
Site should give some idea of prices/whats available and where,Evening Echo paper may have something in their classified ads.

Think the free ads only apply to lonely hearts,second-hand communion dresses, lost dogs etc, don,t think there is property/lets on it.
Good luck, hope you have a good stay there.

Thanks for the advice. I am very much looking forward to it. I hope to spend summer there as well. I will try the reception in hospital alright, I used to have 3 friends working there but think 1 is in London now, other on maternity leave and as far as I know other still nursing there but lost contact.

Another question, I was in City centre over the weekend and could not locate a pub that was close to a bookies that showed the racing. Is it case that such pubs are on the outskirts? Also any pubs that do good pub grub at reasonable price in town as well.
