I wasn't going to vote for him but I am now. I thought his claim to posessing business nous was false until I read that article. He is an ideal President for this country.

didnthe get a £700,000 "start" to set up business from berties boyos also?

Yes he did padlock but if we are to believe Sean Gallagher he joined politics to make a difference .... My hole he joined and was on the national executive Fianna Fail for one reason and that was personal gain .....
The people on this island voted with the feet at the general election earlier this year at their disgust at the carry on of some of the Fianna Fail regime for years .....It beggars belief that we are now only a matter of months later going to vote " one of their own " back in to be president ........ How can anyone say this fella isn t all that s bad about Fianna Fail to the core ..... He takes massives amounts of money out of the company when its loosing its life not giving a **** about the people who have invested in the company , he s on a board of a state agency that issues grants to his company , he s pulling the wool over peoples eyes saying he champions small business forgetting to mention he s getting up to 5k a pop going around the country giving talks to chamber of commerce luncheons ect ect ...... I have no political preference and really don t mind who anyone votes for or becomes next president but how on earth can people be falling for this man s bullshit |

STOP THE PRESSES
People invest in property company in 2005 and lose their investment. Should also be noted that they only lost half their investment because anyone who invests in a BES Scheme gets tax relief at the top rate of tax on the amount invested Interestingly the article doesn't say how much of the money paid to Gallagher relates to the rent owed to him by the company but uses very ambiguous wording. |

He's a winner and you're just another begrudger, dinglemick.
By:
Its not begrudgery to point out some salient facts about a presidential candidate.
By:
So who do you vote for?
One of the 2 paedophile sympathisers The terrorist? Or maybe the lifetime State Committee member or one of the 2 lifetime members of the political system? |

They have fond memories of Charles J in Dingle, Dinglemick. Remember his investment in Dingle harbour (please don't be pedantic and say it was taxpayers money - it would never have happened without the say-so of Charles). |

BEFORE you bet (or Vote) ask yourself..............
WHO has the life experiences and the intellectual hardware to convince ???????? WHO's CV is too limited in terms of achievement ????????? |

Its astounding that Gallagher has such a commanding lead. I really can't see who is voting for him. He is FF through and through. Obviously the electorate are very forgiving.

Full result
Gal 40% (+20); Hig 25 (+2); McG 15 (-4); Nor 8 (-3); Mit 6 (-3); Dav 3 (-9); Dana 3 (no change) Has anyone ever seen a poll where from one to another, 4 candidates go down and nigh on every single one of their votes goes to one candidate. Something stinks here |
By:
The polls are iffy and Red C are the iffiest of all the pollsters. I know friends who worked for them and falsified results to save time, he put my name down on a ton of surveys. This could be a inaccurate polling.
By:
I have to agree, these polls can't be right. There has to be manipulation at work here, i know the Intrade markets were manipulated twice during the last 2 US presidential elections gaining publicity a lot of news coverage in the US. i would be really disappointed in us as a people if we let this FF slime ball in, he's a massive step backwards by us imo.
By:
Well I will be voting Sean Gallagher and the above article from the sindo has done little to sway my belief that he will make the best president out of the available candidates.
I'd also hope that the electorate have little bit more sense than to let party allegiances get in the way of choosing of their vote. |
By:
Why? Can you actually blame people for holding a grudge against his party? A party that have wrecked this country in order to line their own pockets and their family and friends. I never want to see any of those next nor near govt or any sort of power in Ireland. This guy has run election campaigns for FF in the past, we have lost our sovereignty over fianna fail and you are saying we should not be hold any grudges against his party. We are a stupid nation if we elect this fella, he was poor even in the last debate he is full of old cliches so for me i can't understand people saying he is the best candidate in a weak field, Michael D for me.
By:
This country deserves everything it gets if they vote this **** from FF in. How stupid can some people be? FF responsible for taking the country to the cleaners
By:
Fair play Mick, tis a poor field is all I'm sayin

Does anyone wonder if these polls of around 1000 a time are a significant enough sample?, get the word out about someone and it is almost self fulfilling it seems in a way.

...... Gallagher will struggle to come even a remote second ..... McGuiness could beat him |

Lets hope Michael D. leaves his nose out of RURAL IRELAND...........As a greyhound/horse owner/breeder I could not vote for this man..........
