Refeeree's do and can miss things during a game, Cox quite clearly controls the ball with his hand which directly led to their keeper getting sent off, if anything the Cox handball was much more clear cut than the Armenian keepers supposed deliberate handball, no more deliberate than cox's?.

We'll never know for sure what would have happened as we'll never really know if we would have won the penalty shoot out against France if Henry didn't handle, but Ireland were the beneficiaries of a huge and incorrect decision that Armenia are entitled to have a good moan about.
I somehow doubt they will be as sanctimonious as the Irish with their sense of injustice, yeh the same Irish who wanted Henry burn't at the stake like their heroine Joan of Arc or even better they wanted the guillotine taken out of retirement. The poor referee who showed human frailties just like tonights ref was hounded mercilessly.

I wonder if Armenia had equalised late on would the Irish media and the minister for sport and leisure be knocking down UEFA's door clamouring for a replay to be offered to Armenia out of a sense of fair play?, not on your nelly!.

As suspected the sanctimonious hypocrites have all retreated back into their various caves along with the Irish gutter press.
Irish soccer and rugby fans are all wonderful, of course they are!! until they sniff the slightest hint of an injustice and they turn into a monster, Thierry Henry affords himself just a little wry smile....

Below the comments taken from an Armenian newspapers report on last nights soccer game, note not a hint of sour grapes or a sense of injustice,

Who died and made you King? you are a cockroach congratulating the owner of the house for a game well played, in the name of the Armenian nation.

I;m very sorry you lost money greaser. To compare incidents is laugable to say the least. Henry incident was as blatant and clear cut a deliberate handball. It decided a play off for a world cup, everybody seen it clearly but the Ref and his mates.
Last night Cox handled but hardly blatant but should have been a free kick but these things often happen. The keeper put his hands up and it hit him on the armpit which is handball, a red card was maybe or maybe not harsh but as it did effect the outcome of the shot it isn't hard to see that showing a red card was correct.
It was not as crucial to the result as the Henry incident, it was though a factor but not anywhere near the same scale as Henrys.

The big difference is the blatant cheating factor, you cannot put them in same bracket. Ireland did not get a replay against France and btw a lot of French supported that idea, it all died down very quickly. Only morons such as yourself sore in the pocket seem to have a problem.

The big difference is the blatant cheating factor

Cox was interviewed after the game following his Man of the Match presentation on RTE. He a said that he did not think that the keeper had handled the ball (he was in a good position to judge) . However,in the immediate aftermath of the incident, he is clearly seen on camera appealing animatedly to the referee .

Was he begging the ref not to send off the Armenian keeper ?

Cheating is endemic in football.

I seen the interview but fact is it hit keeper in the armpit and that is handball. How many people immediately thought handball by Cox and deff not handball by keeper. Compare that to the Henry incident on the blatant cheating scale.

I agree totally with you and instigated another thread about same.

Basically every ballplayer  will cheat a little. Take an innocuous throw in. How often will both players claim the throw and from experience both know whos throw it is? One of these players is cheating
In the Ireland v France world cup playoff Robbie Keane was twice penalised for handball. Both times he protested his innocence. He handled it both times. The only difference between him and Henry was that the referee blew his whistle.

So Henry done it deliberately or did he do it out of instinct? just like cox?

Both players probably thought they would have been blown for a foul, that the ref and more importantly the linesman missed it, is history.
Cox knew he couldn't control the ball any other way so he used his arm deliberately, was his arm use anymore different than Henry?

I for one was ashamed of been Irish after the most sickening show of sour grapes any nation could even dare to have put together, but somehow but not unsurprising the Irish put on a lord mayor's show, if it wasn't the wrong ball in a lineout in rugby it was Kenny Egan, jesus c'mon Ireland you're surely better than that?
