When you think you have worries this puts everything into perspective. Absolutely harrowing.

Freezing the funds of religious orders would be a good start for sure

there surely cannot be any God that allows evil of this or any nature to take place but I hope the poor man finds some peace. He spoke to eloquently and powerfully.

If, as we are lead to believe, there is an omnipotent deity then we would not live in a world rife with evil - I do not accept the counter argument that it is caused by "the gift" of free will. I grew up in a happy catholic family, with a rich catholic upbringing. I see my mother and father get incredible solace from their faith and I don't belittle or undermine their belief in anyway. However the older I get the more I realise that it is all a fairy tale, there is no God, there is no heaven or hell and when we die we go to a hole in the ground and that's it.

For years I was afraid to believe this, afraid that if I'm wrong I will pay the price in the after life and of course I truly hope I'm wrong but I'm pretty much convinced now that I'm not.

I have to disagree with you murphyjust, god is actually amongst us each and every day on this forum. He posts regularly, his moniker being wildmanfromborneo.

then maybe thats why people react the way they do...no belief therefore why should i bother..take what i can and to hell with the world...to blame a higher deity for mans evil ways smirks of hypocrisy....we have free will to do as we want..a gift from god...or the devil if you belive in him...my own opinion of god would differ from yours...in a much as i feel there is a good in this world thats beyond understanding for my finite mind.....i hold catholic beliefs but use a anglican church most sundays....i remember been told as a child that the devil resided in such places ...i can assure you thats an untruth ...i also have firm belief that god resides in the human heart ...its what we do with our beliefs that matter's not what we say....

there it is again the old "free will" argument - it's possibly the greatest load of boll0x i've ever heard.

So all the good in the world is down to God and all the evil is down to God giving us free will? Now please, I'm telling you if it was on a kids TV programme we'd stop them watching it.

There are good people and there are evil people and there are those in between that are neither good nor evil. Pretty straightforward really...

so you are telling me you dont have free will...is that right murphyjust..
