3 maiden hurdles to start the card which can be good from a punting point of view ........two frustrating types might finally get their heads in front Flycorn who showed enough the last day against Frawley to suggest that a maiden hurdle like this is well within his compass and the real frustrating worldy wise who if he can t win tomorrow over 2mile on a flat track like Tipperary should pack in the national hunt game ....Deep Determination should win the other one i think ... I ve a feeling he could be pretty decent if he takes to hurdling ....Probably wasn t in love with the ground the last day in Listowel behind Missunited .... Roche won with a similar type in a maiden hurdle at Clonmel last sunday week Morning Ireland
one i'd be keeping an eye on tomorrow is seafield dinglemick.....i might not have a bet in the race , but i think this fellow if busy tomorrow will run a big one....i was at punchestown the day this lad won and was impressed ....he has been disappointing since to be fair ...2.55....

Hello Dingle. Fancy worldly wise in the other maiden,in the process of running a good race against shadow eile and very good efforts against black benny and tavern times(franked form yesterday)both well above average. Of the opposition imperial joey one paced placed efforts in not great looking maidens, farells fancy had the real article(franked form yesterday)no outing for 6 months which is off putting, lack off a recent run also puts me off sea of thunder(wary of trainer though) I,d be disappointed if w w is still a maiden after tomorrow. gl

rememeber that maiden hurdle all right workrider ....it was his first run of the season then also which would give you hope for tomorrow ......good to see you back on racing ....if rovers held on the other night in white heart lane we might never have seen you again .... well lapsy i m hoping McIlroy might make us a few bob in the next few months

thats my point koikeeper ...serious reservations about him getting two miles also ..Tipps probably one of the easiest two miles in Ireland ...he did win a flat race there .. i m giving him one last chance purely based on the fact like lapsy said that the last three runs when he was second twice to Tavern Times and Black Benny and fell in Galway when it looked between him and shadow eile he doesn t meet that calibre of horse tomorrow ..... while the race tomorrow has a couple of half decent ones there is nothing there of the calibre of tavern , black benny and shadow eile

Hello Koi,I know you,re a fair judge, thought he went the scenic route at listowel(for better ground) imo he stayed on well that day just done for toe by black benny.Being honest its not the staying i,d be too worried about but his jumping, sketchy to say the least at the last few hurdles(not galway unlucky) in most of his later races.Think he has a great chance tomorrow with the calibre of opposition

Farrells Fancy & Sea Of Thunder very promising in the third Maiden there,Deep Determination must be amiss as the money was down today and was beaten a mile out.

yeah lapsy .... i think whatever race worldly wise runs in he ll find one too good ....at least he was a price today 7/2 that you could back him each way knowing he won t be out of the first 3 .. Flycorn did it well [:)] don t think there were any opposition in the same calibre as Frawley like the last day ... Something surely amiss with Deep Determination ...well punted into 9/4 ....like you say punchestown he was one of the first beaten ....he s better than that

fancy anything in the next punchestown ?2m 4 f beginners chase..... I don think its a race that will take much winning ..... after seeing Derinluar make all in the last i m tempted to have a few quid on Barrell of Laughs at a bit of a price ....front runner who ran well in a decent maiden hurdle at this meeting last year ( 4th behind far away so close, apt manor and riverstown ) .....has also finished second in a point to point ....wouldn t consider jim culloty one of the better trainers but if ready to run in its first race of the season might be worth a little interest 8/1 ......

well the job horse got the loot today...farrells fancy of course..apparently all of carrigtwohill and region were on today, his win will have paid for the historic celebrations in the village after sundays final victory...very helpful for the local neighbouring rider to set the strong pace required to bring out the best in conor counihans gelding.

keen leader speaking of carrigtwohills win last sunday i would be interested in your opinion of the Munster club hurling championship ......I was thinking of backing Limerick s Na Piarsigh to win it They won their first county title in over 40 years last sunday ....real good young side that is backboned by two of the finest young hurlers in the country kevin Downes and Shane Dowling

Cheers Mick took your oppinion on board there and had a few sheckles on, I think I heard somewhere that Culloty has spent a lot of money on his yard in terms of boxes and gallops, I know he has had problems with viruses in the past but could he maybe a fella to keep on the right side of if he has it all cleared up.

it was actually Na Piarsaighs first ever county championship win. Good young team on the up with plenty of inter county under 21s. Have improved massively since 2009 (when hammered in final) and have plenty more improvement to come . The boys of 2009 are now the men of 2011

Culloty has some of the finest schooling facilities in the country. He has had them for a while though. Wife is very well off. Had a huge fire there during the summer. Barn or 2 going up in smoke. Good owner in Dr Lambe behind him too. Lets other trainers from around the area use the facilities as well. My opinion is that he should be having a few more winners than what he's having. Does he have a lot of winners in the p-to-p scene?

a sharpie down in cork has described the culloty setup, financially aided by mrs porkpie as a 5 star equine hotel managed by basil faulty...the results to date suggest he may be right, though with the continued patronage of lambe and others and some well bred stock the handler will get every chance to up his game...but remember not all ex jockeys make it as trainers. the winner today was purchased after he placed 2nd in a point on easter sunday 2010 out of tom keatings, i would say 80-100 was required to buy him, so one could argue his return to date has been most disappointing. culloty had one decent looking 4 year old last point season, a lambe owned old vic called spring heeled, he looked a very good prospect, in another yard i would expect the horse to be a festival type within 2 years, can his current handler realise the potential?.

He didn't half jump well today though, that is what won it for him, if he can get a few more to jump like that he'll be ok. If he has the money to buy these athletic scopey types and the facilities, he really shouldn't fail.

Just noticed there that Thomas O'Leary seems to have retired from training racehorses. Anyone have any updates on this. In his late 30's. Lack of horses I presume.

Not sure on that one - but I know she's had the license/yard since April as per an article on Irish Racing from yesterday.
Hopefully he's still in racing - sad state of affairs but some trainers no matter how good a horseman they are don't get the ammo or don't have the funding.
