Next 8 days will determine a lot for our proud nation as we compete on a global stage in 2 massive sporting tournaments. First up Ireland face a tricky away game v Andorra on a Friday night, then followed by Ireland v Wales in the rugby world cup quarter final. Then next Tuesday Ireland may at that stage be a win away from Euro 2012 when they face Armenia. I think the pinnacle of any sportsman is to face international competition and WIN, without this you are truly not tested or say you have conquered anything on the field of play. A nation holds it breath

O'Shea trained today, good news for Ireland. A 1-0 win and then the right result in Slovakia and it could be party time in Ireland that following Tuesday.

i think o'shea is one of the worst footballers to ware the green jersey....cumbersome and always looks as if he's amazed to be on the same pitch as he's team mates...although i'd be delighted if he proved me wrong for the next couple of games....

He could slot him anywhere in the back 4 or centre of midfield........a big club playing in 4 or 5 competitions need a utility player like that imo..........not many of the current squad would get into the Utd squad.

O'Shea looked terrible in the Norwich v Sunderland game I thought, way off the pace all together, i'm not sure he quite has the legs for full back any more.

Looking forward, over the weekend, to what should be at least 3 intriguing matches and occasions between closely matched teams of superb athletes and footballers in the RWC. To mention the sporting excrement served up by the Italian mercenary in the same post is scurrilous.

Robbie Brady should be in the squad as well thinking about it.
