Piss poor from RTE again. No doubt they'll be all over the boxers in London2012 when they are the only medal hopes.... again.

Joe Ward is something else... will be the best irish boxer ever.

7 of the 10 are through to the last 16 (one more win for Olympic qualification). Mind you the three loses are big ones; Moylette (Euro champ), Barnes (Beijing) and Kenny Egan.

Moylette lost to the Commonwealth champ. It was Barnes' first fight of the year so he was ring rusty whilst Egan walked into a Cuban

Ouch. Joe Ward's first senior loss is on countback on the verge of the Olympics. Ended 15-15

Moylette (& Ross Hickey for that matter) will struggle in the April box off as 5 Europeans qualified for the Olympics at his weight. Barnes might have a better opportunity as only 2 Europeans qualified at his weight

Darren O'Neill & John Joe Nevin are through. Nevin took two standing 8 counts in the first two rounds, and was 13-11 down going into the third but won it on countback. Final was 18-18.

Ward still has a decent shot at the Olympics; only two Europeans qualified at his weight

Conlan, the flyweight, is through

Joyce has had a heartbreaker. Was 13-8 down after round 1 but got back to 30-30 with 5 seconds to go ... and got a 2 point penalty. Lost 32-30. Worse again was that he was ahead on countback.

Con Sheahan's fight was stopped by his own corner in the 3rd. Camarelle is a monster (current Olym;pic & 2 time world champion)so that was no surprise.

3 through, 2 heartbreakers (Joyce & Ward) and Roy Sheahan to come.

Not exactly sure how it works but I believe Ward & Joyce will go through to London if their victors make the final

Don't quote me on that one!!!
