Giant was right, that Shamrock Rovers are a very lucky team how they held on for a 2-1 loss i will never know, Happy if we had won 5 i don't think anyone would have complained. It made the Miracle of Moscow look like an even game !

I have to say Giant great game had everything, but we battered them, should have been 3-0 up at half time. Such was the battering them went mental lost their heads. We may not win it but the league ain't over yet.

If Pats beat them on Monday then they will move level on points with the hoops. And that`s 3 days before Rubin visit.
2 nice suspensions to deal with after last night.
They bottled it 2 years ago, and almost did it last year. I fancy they will do it again. [;)]

I think you`ll find wr, that MJKs and your antics, are the reason for my obsession.
Did I mention Sligo away on Monday week and Derry 4 days later!?

Well done Rocket, thought Sligo deserved the win. Worst refereeing I've ever seen but that's not Sligo's fault. Blinkhorn practically catching the ball for the winner was even bad by Hancock's standard. Enjoyable game but for the ref.

shocking ref .... mjk any stats on how many of our players he's sent off ...

No, but the ironic thing is that when he's not doing a game and we're at home he sits in the main stand! The tackle on Turner was worse than Flynn's imop.

agree , that the thing i meant when i said ..he has to make a statement when reffing our games ....i knew a ref years ago pat graham ...r.i.p....he turned out to be a good friend of mine , he had the same problem ...he told me he had to either book or send off a rovers player .it was a psychological thing ...dont think he'll get a seat next time ....

All slagging aside and you lads may not agree but i thought last night's game was a great game, great football, and played at such a high tempo, last week there was 2 ordinary games live on TV, this weekend none but this game was always going to be the pick of both weekends.

it was a very entertaining game alright rocket pity about the result ....Sad....having said that as has been said already the ref fooked it up for us...i cant understand o'neills decision to play twigg on his on up front and us at home...it only invites ye to attack..but yes some fine football from both teams....were you there...?

The game was not as uneven as the thread title suggests. Sligo were certainly more confident  and balanced looking for most of the match but Rovers slowely came into it and always looked as or perhaps more likely to score from killer passes from midfield

The refereeing was nothing if not brave[;)]

Thought if we had been 2-0 or 3-1 up at half time it would probably have been about accurate. If both team had taken their chances before the sending off i would have said it would have been 6-1 after 90 10-2 would have been fair. I might be biased but i don't think i am when we play like that team in the league can live with us probably would have suited us better if the ref had not sent off a Sullivan. Anyway should be a great finish to the season.
