So from the next set of games if Ireland , Armenia and Russia all win Ireland need a draw at home to Armenia to finish second.
If Slovakia and Russia draw, Ireland and Armenia both win then a draw at home to Armenia is good enough for second.
If Slovakia beat Russia, Ireland and Armenia both win then Ireland need to win their last game at home to Armenia or draw and hope Slovakia dont beat Macedonia in Macedonia.
The only way we can win the group is if Slovakia beat Russia and Ireland win their last two games.
No doubt the Aviva will be a full house for the final game against Armenia and the whole place will be chewing their nails as we hang on for a 0-0!!

To qualify in the second place automatic spot:
On the presumption that Ireland win their last 2 games they would finish on 15 points (21-6 points taken off Andorra) Group A. Nobody in this group would qualify automatically. Group C. Nobody in this group would qualify automatically. Group D. Nobody in this group would qualify automatically. Group E. Sweden would need 3 points from their last 2 games in Finland and Home to Holland. Group F. Greece would need 3 points from their last 2 games home to Croatia and in Georgia. Group G. Montenegro would need 4 points from their last 2 games home to England and in Switzerland. Group H. This group is a real minefield and will probably get the automatic spot. If Norway beat Cyprus they will have 16 points and then its between Portugal and Denmark who are on 13 points each and even though they play each other it would only take one of them to win their other game to go through. Group I. Czech Rep. need to win their last two games to have any chance of getting the spot. |

So if Ireland do finish second possible teams they could face in a two legged playoff.
