4.40 - Leceile @ 25s could go bigger on here too, worth a few €€? Won well over 10f at Naas but to me has looked a non stayer when upped to 12f the last twice. The drop in trip looks sure to suit, the ground should be fine and coulod go a lot better than it's price suggests.

5.10 - Mutahadee @ 4s, ran well last time in a group 2 behind Bamimphire and Dunboyne Express. If Viscount Nelson runs to his best he will be tough to beat but he ran rubbish in America latest and if he doesn't perform a reproduction of Mutahadee's latest may be enough.

5.45 - Misty For Me @ 11/8, for obvious reasons, think she is a better filly than Together and while she may be better over 2f extra on the basis of the Pretty Polly i think she still has enough speed.

6.10 - Barack @ 16s+ / Six Of Hearts @ 20s+, was very impressed with Barack when he won here over 8f earlier in the season. That day a horse fell in front of him in the straight and he still won well. He has a nice draw and can drop him in off the pace and hope the gaps open at the right times. Six Of Hearts was given a hopeless task last time in a group 3 against Deacon Blues but a reproduction of his victory at the Curragh on Derby Day should have him in the mix here.

6.45 - So You Think (doubled with Misty For Me) can't see how he does not win

Good Luck today

Snap,i think we dead heated there.
Report ReimerpYsatnaf September 3, 2011 12:44 PM BST
plenty of losers there for all the wise to lay DevilGrin right i've a couple of hours to decide whether to go or not, jeez this card used to be great there was never even a decision to be made

Go up for the second race alone, you will see a star. The late finish does make it awkward for the real greyhound men.

Leopardstown should be commended for their innovative policy of watering one track and leaving another alone thus preserving their options.

There will be one great race at Leopardstown today but sadly it is not the Champion Stakes that accolade goes to the second race.

3.40
Here i like Oh So Lucy she had a lovely introduction at The Curragh and should beat the wellexposed Ahimsa.

4.00
I expect fireworks here and Derby quotes.
Akeed Mofeed was given an easy on his debut here first time out, if trained by a small trainer there would have been long bans, he missed the break and was unlucky in running to me he could be a champion.
Athens ran a lovely debut in York and looked like an improver,
Roman General ran with great promise first time out.
I think the big punters will play here and they will plunge on Athens and Akeed Mofeed.
I think they will fight it out and confidently expect Akeed Mofeed to prevail and be quoted new Derby favourite.

4.40
Malayan Mist with no great confidence.

5.10.
Form horse here is Viscount Nelson but he has been absent since a futile visit to America will take a chance with the in form Galileos Choice.

5.40
A decent race, Misty For Me needs cut in ground but more importantly is a Curragh specialist and is the lay of the day.

6.10
Despite his poor draw i like Jamesie an improver who i thought was unlucky at Galway.

6.45.
A dreadful renewal of a great race.
I hope someone in authority takes on board Richard Hughes thoughtful and well reasoned comments in todays post.
My views on So You Think are well documented but this field is so bad he has to win but i accept that genuine racing enthusiasts like SoldierofFortune will enjoy seeing a champion.

7.20.
As the English handicappers all seemed hurled in when they travel Mohedian Lady will do for me.
It is a mystery why the English trainers dont target the Irish handicaps more, ridiculous prize money and handicapper is very favourable.

i honestly think 2/7 So you think is a lay while he may win thers a couple of good horses running again him, same can be said about Misty for me 5/4 he beat a below par midday last time i layed both for 50E , ONE OF US WILL BE RIGHT R.Y.Laugh

Laugh more than likely not me

I Think your being a bit hard[Catch me] by describing the Champion STAKES as a A dreadful renewal of a great race; it may not be the best field ever but its hardly a dreadful race never the less we shoud be thankful that Aiden o brien does like the race.

It is a dreadful renewal ,no doubt about it.Very uncompetitive race with no interest being generated anywhere.Red Mills will be over the moon with their inaugural sponsorship I'd say,it would have been easier just to give Coolmore a reduction in their yearly food bill. Two or three impossible handicaps,a non event bug race and a very dubious stall allocation in every other race,it's no wonder Irish racing is on it's knees and there won't be a sinner there no matter what time it's on
Report Mr Mischief September 3, 2011 2:36 PM BST
Misty for me has never run at Leopordstown and her victory at Longchamp suggests she's more than a 'Curragh specialist'. Destroyed Midday LTO over 10 and is equally effective over a mile. Should be odds onCool
Report ReimerpYsatnaf September 3, 2011 2:49 PM BST
going to give it a miss and just go Shelbourne, that's the important business today Grin
Report ReimerpYsatnaf September 3, 2011 4:24 PM BST

Backed Rockchase Bullet @ 10/3 also on him big @ 66s and 50s to win the Derby, had him doubled with Dream Walker as well @ 4/1, he looked a certainty out of the 2nd and ran a shocker, would of been some double but sure that's the way it goes sometimes.

If Bullet wins the final next week it will be some party Laugh
