As a diver 10 out of 10 for effect .  Zero for sportsmanship .

Connolly should take some of the plaudits himself,a point down in the ultimate low scoring game and he negates the free which was almost a certain score,by his supid retaliation. He deserved to be taken off straight away and with his performance yesterday,he wont be any loss in the final either. If Dublin havent better than him then god help them against Kerry

Connolly should have thanked the Donegal player for the free and complimented him on his sisters sexual prowess. But its easy to say that from the comfort of the couch and not in the heat of an All Ireland semi.

If you raise your hands its a straight red. It amazes me as to why players still do this. Soccer players and their theatrics have a lot to answer for but there is no excuse for a lack of brains or savvy on Connollys behalf.

Connolly put a stright arm into a Donegal players chest. Almost immediately another Donegal player comes in and puts a stright arm into the chest of Connolly. One player gets sent off while the other incident goes completely unpunished. I dont think either was a red card but both were exactly the same and happened within a second of each other. How can an officail see one and miss the other. Where is the consistency.

Dont have much sympathy with Connolly. He was self indulgent in responding in the way he did. Cost his team a point in a very low scoring game and Dublin had to play the last 15 minutes less a player. He had plenty of chances to show some agression when he got on the ball during the match but might as well have not showed up.

The Donegal tactics yesterday were a disgrace. Once they got 3 points up their players kept feigning serious injury every time they went down. Referee has no choice but to stop the game when a player lying flat out on the ground and the Donegal used this to their full advantage. If Dublin had a free the Donegal players actively held onto the ball and it had to be forefully taken off them for play to resume.

I have no problems whatsoever with Donegals ultra defensive tactics. For every sytategy there is a counter strategy. Yesterday Dublin showed no imagination in trying to counter the strategy Donegal employed. Spillane likened Donegals tactics to parking the bus infront of goals. But gaelic is different to soccer. A team can play for a scorelss draw in soccer but you cant do that in gaelic. Good players will score from distance and no defense can go a game without giving away scoreable frees.

The way to counter the Donegal tactics is to get ahead of them on the scorboard early on and then force them to be more positive.

Surely an injustice has been put right here.If anything the Donegal player should have a bit of time off to rehearse his dramatics.

He needs to deliver now.

Apparently the ref forget to take his name.......

That was mentioned pre hearing but I'm not sure that was the reason the suspension was overturned.

There was talk of other video evidence.

won't make a bit of difference

Scoreless in 3 games in the championship so far. Very frustrating player.

Looked a red card to me. He hit him in the face and should be suspended.

Good for him getting off- but it does again highlight how the CCC or whatever name they go under are a joke of an organisation. The rule seems to be if they Sunday Game go on a witch hunt you are suspended, if they plead for leniency you get off- if you are from Kerry don't waste your time appealing. On Sunday Tommy Walsh split the refs nose with his hurley and no one mentioned it, Paul Galvin touched a refs notebook and got 6 months!!!

Great to see him get off, would hate to see a player deprived of playing in possibly the greatest sporting occasion in the GAA since god was a go'son.

Yes the GAA have opened up a can of worms, questions need answers and explaining is needed why his ban was overturned. Incidents in similarity occured through out the year that were appealed unsuccessfuly eg. Brian Farrell v. Kildare.

In my opinion I think he is no addition to the Dublin forward line, as someone mentioned above- he needs 'rope', give him space and time and he will kick scores for fun but against a defence of Kerrys he wont get that extra yard. Defenders of the calibre of Tom O'Sullivan or Marc O'Shea in opposition, he'll be hid. I think Gilroy should start Kevin Mc Menamin.
