Have they packed this in? Got the below message from them today, but maybe it's a restriction?? Don't bet with them anyway, just curious.

Yeah had a look on their website and fon-a-bet still there. But sure when I tried to have a bet with them online last week, I was told to phone them. Asked for €65 on a 8/13 shot, they came back and offered me €10. Told them to send me a cheque and close the account. Plain

In my local Spoils today, the manager took my car keys off me,and valeted my car for me.He opened a fresh packet of custard creams for me and changed the filter on the coffee machine. As I settled into the Portman Park card(my first 3 bets got shocking rides),my eyes were taken by their new casino roulette game every 3 minutes, which seemed great fun to me.When I asked for me FON A BET to be kept open and not made an online one, they gave me a special number to ring my bets in.They bet me what I like on their evens and odds dog bets too. There is even mention of inviting me to their Christmas party.

If similar to Sky and Stans they're just not letting you on over the phone.

Days gone by if they were laying you to lose a tenner over the internet and you called up they'd lay you a bigger bet over the phone, at the right price (not an arb etc).  These days they don't even want to do that.

I never got it. Must mean I am a mug. That said they never ever accommodated me over the phone. They do (or did anyway) lay a decent enough Sports bet when I had the money to play. I've just had an incident in a shop with them that would make your milk curdle. I don't know if it is incompetence or if they are going bad but the carry on I went through over €34 would make you wonder what is going ion there at management level

Is it any coincidence that Spoils get a much worse press on here than Paddys? If I was John Spoil, that is a question I would like an answer to?For what its worth,in my opinion,Paddys give the punters a much better crack of the whip, with Spoils trailing miles behind.

Ironic that you make it sound like a crack of the whip is a good thing to get off a bookmaker hammy Laugh

Matt hails from Abingdon, the leafy home of Actuarial education.

In keeping with such a spineless & confrontation-avoiding "profession", Chuckles
won't 'rock the boat'.

PS coming to Spoils soon - €1 stake Lucky 15 restrictions imo...

This was in a shop. No record of it electronically but 20 witnesses in the shop all saw what they tried to pull. I'd say the girl in there (who was a disgrace BTW) got some land when I didn't take my medicine and go quietly like most would. Sickens me that they prey on people like that, its thuggery pure and simple

It's not that far fetched either to be honest, i'm sure spoils would instruct a staff member to bone a customer with a 15" rubber thingy to save them €34 !
