There are usually enough to go around on the day. If you get up around the ground nice an early you will usually find a few lads elling them at face value. Keep away from touts

My mate was at the hurling final a few years ago, they just went to the pub to watch but they were selling tickets close to throw in for face value and also said no worries getting a ticket on the day of the match, they could not believe it.

If someone offered me a ticket early for a bit over face I'd take it.

Same as that, i will be getting mine via the club i played for in Gaelic and their minor allocation. No interest in the GAA in Sligo

The Sligomen I know are proud of where they are from and follow all codes.

I wish that was the case only 1 club in the city boundary , GAA shot themselves in the foot when they only banned half the town, more people from Sligo banned than any other county and i t was great to see the soccer plants get Croker open. Anyway I know my fellow Sligwegians and they love sports that have some skill involved so i think if the GAA promoted hurling you would see more interest than you see currently in something like gaelic football.

My dad told me he knew people in Kilkenny who went well away from Kilkenny to play soccer but some were banned from playing hurling for life when their local GAA found out,that would have been just after the war.Mind you Niall Quinn spoke of that in his autoboigraphy too.

If anyone else is looking for tickets, I can tell you there should be plenty available around the ground in the morning. Got a message from a Kilkenny fella last night who was trying to offload 6 tickets.

According to him there will be a good few empty seats abound.
