Oneeightofamile, got some 12s e/w 5spots last nite. They fkd up getting a massive penalty over hurdles lto. Very tough race, but a very progressive horse.

No doubt the bookies will be taking buckets of dockets with the Dermot Weld double in the novice hurdle with recent Sligo winner Sulawan and the maiden with Riviara Poet .... Riviara Poet had Galway written all over him on its first run at the Curragh .... Smullen didn t get too serious with him in a decent maiden ... He ll need to be good though to beat the Ballydoyle one that was nibbled at in the market and ran on real well behind David Livingston and Newbury Hall ..... 4/6 and 7/4 .... you d wonder what the betting would be if it was being run at another track !!!! ... Unless Watchmans is any good ( 2 year olds rarely win first time out in Galway in any event ) looks a pure match ...... Backed De Secture each way at 4s in the second ... Thought this one would have been a little shorter ... could still be improving off a mark of 104 ....very unlucky when fourth ( made a hash of the last with race at its mercy ) at Killarney to jack cool last summer .... Nice win on the flat a few weeks ago and seems versitile with the ground .... Again though its a hot enough race .... Oneeightofamile will get my few euros in the GPT ( or whatever it is called now ) pureley because i have had great luck with the horse that last few years .... Finally a sneaky outsider in the 60-90 3 year old handicap Lover s Peace around 10s/12s .... This one bolted up a few runs back and was then carried out to the carpark at Fairyhouse and flew home to finish fourth in a race won by Why But Why from harringtons which was also carried wide .... Why But Why has twice since run well off 12lb higher mark so Lovers Peace might still have a bit in hand ....If it doesn t draw tonight it will in a lesser grade soon ..... Good luck to all !!!!!!!

Riviera Poet, the only bet for me this evening. 3rd to Power looks good after his Royal Ascot win, although the second their was beaten at newmarket a few weeks ago. Granted, Ballydoyle will know were they stand in relation to their horse, not going to get rich at around evs, but max bet on this fellow for somme ammo for later on in week.

Interesting to see CoD left on Learn.....obviously not keen to be giving weight to DKW's with JPoB .....probably is a match...though a few other nicely bred ones to note, Fight being the obvious of those............Couldn't back Oneeightofamile with his claimer.....O'Connor on the English raider........the bumper looks as though it could be a good race....but couldn't bet until the market is known, Jessie has a nice one in it but Kate is on it and you take your chances with her up.......Galway first day not an easy card..................DKW mite start it off for favs backers

Lovers Peace was on my radar too but i've missed the bigger prices and might leave it alone now. I'll be backing Sulwan and De Senectute in the first two races, any investments in the other races will be minimal.
gl all.

6.45 - Fosters Cross (nap), didn't think they made much effort 2 runs ago at the Curragh over 1m 4f, seemed to be travelling well but went very wide and then just plodded on at the same pace, next time up he ran a fine race behind Gimli's Rock again over 1m 4f looking dangerous at one stage and again just plodding on at one pace. Finally stepped back up to the 2m he wants (won a 2m maiden at Navan and 4th in November handicap at Leopardstown) and near the bottom of the handicap i will be dissappointed if he does not go close.
really not a fan of the trainer though

Galway is not sometin to get stuck into. I like Rattan in the next. Ran a blinder in the Ascot stakes and then dropped back to a mile and half at the Curragh which possibly didn't suit. Willie Mullins also says the race came to quickly. Nice weight with Katie Walsh on board. Had Fantasy King as one to follow but sure how could he win today with that Jockey on board. I'll ate me pubic hair if he wins

Missed the 10 s this this morning on Lovers Peace ..... price was disapearing while i was tipping it up on the forum ..... Ended up backing it at half those odds ..... pretty annoying but can t complain ... 5/1 winners are better than 10/1 losers !!!!
