One word will suffice.

On appeal, will run, cruises into contention at last, jockey gives him a few backhanders, horse veers violently to the stand side and loses by a head to Gimli's Rock!

Personally I hope that TRA and his likeable trainer gets truly stuffed...

Sorry, I think that's more than one word...

On an unrelated point, if any of my forum enemies would like to meet for a scrap during the week, name the time and place.

No bother thegalwayman. I'll be standing outside The Kings Head every night with a stern look on my face. I'm 6ft 2' bald, dressed in black.

I`m still baffled as to the wisdom of not wanting to win a €35k pot! Anything could go wrong in 10 days or during the race, especially around this dog track. He would still have gone close under a penalty.
Has to be a no for the folly of it all.

YES(but then you won't be surprised prospero) From earlier posts, I stand by the comments I have made. However, from my experiences of racing in Ireland that, in generic terms is what I have found. However I have always respected and read with interest your own comments and those of Platinni as I believe they are well reasoned and based on sound logic.

The penalty was at the discretion of the hcapper though, wasn't just gonna be 6lbs, they knew what he had in hand. Hope he gets banned.

How certain must they be of the bigger pot if they forego the smaller one?Laugh

Will it look worse or better if they ban him?,that's what the powers that be have to decide as it's a slam dunk that TRA has to be banned etc.etc.

Personally I hope they throw the book and the whole library at EJO'G and whoever else was responsible.

Yes das. I know about the fluid nature of the penalty, so therein lies the problem.
The system was designed to stop this type of situation developing, where a very well handicapped horse could not disguise his ability until after the weights of a big h`cap, and then just pick up a fixed penalty they could defy.
Because o`Grady didn`t know what they would be penalised for giving 4lbs to a horse rated 18lbs higher(I think. Open to correction), then they decided to not give it the full treatment in Tipp.
Would anyone know what`s the biggest penalty any horse has received since this system was introduced and hazard a guess at what he would have got had he won there?
