I don't know much about what makes a bad jockey, but I backed a harrington horse in a maiden a few weeks ago(Sat). was gambled and went past an O'Brien favourite in the last one hundred yards, then he let the horse run into O'briens and lost...was terrible....did you the race?

By:
forever glory was it? at the curragh? awful pilot
By:
that was it....was on me way up to collect...f ucking brutal it was
By:
Have to agree..shane foley obvious choice as replacement for jessie...by far best young jockey in ireland
By:
this is real betting office crap with little thaought behind it.
watch him winning on forever glory at leopardstown and ite clear that the horse is iffy, and he had learned alot about the horse from his curragh run. i know thats no good to anyone who backed him on the day but hindsight is 20/20 |
By:
the 2nd horse at leaop bolted up next time out so its obviously not too bad jessies horse..he rubbish inless making the running an that is a fact..look at his ride on fictional account at leop last thursday holds a confirmed stayer up last in a 1m6f race..bloke is useless an im only barely pocket talking as i backed casela park who needs to be out in front
By:
Gary Carroll rode fictional Account so get your facts straight before you start slating people!
And Casela Park is an utter pig! |
By:
Id say Forver Glory has ability alright, clearly needs to be delirivered as late as possible as he did perfectly in Leopardstown.
By:
no hes not..billy lee rode him the way hes supposed to up in dundalk last year when he beat a decent horse in banna boirche so hes not a pig..wouldn mind owning him..my bad thought he rode it remember watching it at home an fran usually rides it awful ride..heres another one for ya to from my case..he rode WHAT EVER IT TAKES for stack/mcmanus an got it beat in a bad race around wexford an its won twice since under LORDAN..its no coincidence
By:
He wouldn't be fit to lace Lordan's boots.
By:
Yes got beaten round Wexford, a tight track where the horse couldnt get into any rhythm at all.
Won at Tipperary and Roscommon needing to be stoked up from a long way out but the relatively long straight enabling him to find is stride just in time to win... |
By:
Listen im sure he has given his fair share of bad rides, like any other jockey.
I dont believe the ones you mentioned were though. But hey its a game of opinions and thats just mine. |
By:
wud ya get the boat the winner of the wexford race is a screw he has won much better races with a better jock on..we'l agree to disagree
By:
You do seem to be one of those people who sees anything in black and white with little or no room for considering mitigating factors in a horses defeat.
horse gets beaten, joceks fault seems to be your stock opinion. |

oxx thought the same..slung out after one season as soon as a better model came along
By:
think you will find it was the Aga Khan who made that call.
By:
and oxx hardly slung him out after one season as he had done a very able job as number2 for a number of years.
By:
wont give him a ride at all now a days i think you'll find..oxx is a aul tramp with jockeys but he was right about fran
By:
john oxx is a gentleman of the highest order!
By:
cathy gannon doesnt think so..once the claim is gone its good luck
By:
Fran has had more OUTSIDE winners that most jockeys these last half dozen years. Obviously some people are happy with him.
By:
Why did he not ride Remember Alexander?
By:
The owner blamed him for defeat first time out.
By:
Correct. Just as well he got his winner earlier on.
Nice feature article with him in the Sunday Mail last Sunday. He dotted all the I's and crossed all his T's. No one was left out including John Oxx. |
By:
Very strong is fran and so adept at changing his whip in a finish. He did so well on Maggie Neary even though he just lost out to that trojan Latham
By:
made great use of the whip on laughing lashes in de oaks on sunday. tossed it away and in doing so tossed away a certain placing in a classic, and who knows maybe a win .

12-Sep-2009.
A day I'll never, ever, EVER forget. Had quite a lumpy e/w bet in Curragh betting shop on Alandi in the Irish St Leger,Kingsfort in the National Stakes & Mourayan in the Doncaster St Leger.Somehow, on a horse that should definitely have been placed & probably should've won the race Berry managed to come 5th. In fairness to him he admitted afterwards that it was the worst ride he'd ever given a horse. You pay your money & you take your chances, but I never back a horse he's riding. |
