Im not one to be backin AOB's horses Stateside usually but the fella must have outstanding claims tonight if ridden prominently?
Gio Ponti probably a worthy favourite but there is nt much betweeen them on their Dubai running(was a beaten fav in a G1 last time but i saw the race and he was ridden as if he was pegasus)
Mission Approved won the race Gio Ponti was in last time and caused a bit of an upset but he did keep on well after quickening clear - Spencer would nt want to be giving this fella too much rope
Mission Approved off in front - Cape Blanco sit in 2nd and wind it up comin into the straight to just get the better of Mission Approved with Gio staying on in 3rd
Cape Blanco has ran this year in Dubai, France and then Royal Ascot. Now shipped over to the US - tough schedule which he will do very well to overcome. With both Mission Approved and Cape Blanco helping to set a good pace the race looks to be perfectly set up for Gio Ponti to outspeed them all close home.

Not in a million years has that added 20m to his value.
It may have added a little to it but winning a turf race in the States will not impact on it very much.
At the absolute very most it has made 5million but I would say that you culd take the 0 away from your original valuation and you would be much closer to it.

It was a poor race bar Gio Ponti. Doubt any horse in it bar first two would win a group two in Europe. That has not enhanced his price by much i would say.

DV probably right, Turf racing very much the poor relation stateside which is why getting 3/1 on an Irish Derby winner/Irish champion stakes winner was so good. American turf G1's are easy pickings for European G1 winners

would having the man o war g1 on his cv not increase his worth by more than 2m as you say?all them american breeders looking at coolmore stallions?strange logic from you..if a stallion gets going its bingo.

All Man O War winners and it would have made not one iota of a difference to their overall reputations other than Magistretti, who was a nobody anyway.
The prizemoney was the big bonus there and the possibility of going for the Arlington Million, the Canadian International and the BC Turf. They are all solid options now.
Nobody will care about that win for Stallion purposes in the same way that successful turf horses such as Kittens Joy, Doctor Dino, Bucks Boy, Artie Schiller, With Anticipation etc are nobodies from a stallion point of view.

I have no idea of his worth as a stallion, but is under €10 million anyway at a guess. It has probably not increased at all from that win.
His dam line is very weak. If he had a stallion's pedigree in the first place, Fitri Hay would not have got a piece of the action.

Post the question on the bloodstock forum and they could probably value it. There are some very sharp minds on it.
I am no expert on it although I study pedigrees in a lot of detail.
I honestly don't think it has made more than the slightest difference as (like Billywilly said) the Champion stakes would already have counted for more. If a horse won the Man O' War and nothing else, I doubt he would even make a stallion in the States.
