I decided not to go for it in the end workrider, I wouldn't be able to keep myself on 20 hours per week in Dublin unfortunately.
I'm working a similar number of hours in the pub here in Limerick at the moment and I'm studying for the solicitor's exams in October. I got my results from College and I got on better than I thought so I've decided to pursue it. I ended up getting an A in what they tell me you are supposed to call your thesis, its 16,000 words and all about European gaming/gambling laws.
I wasn't expecting to get on so well and it has kind of armed me with something to fire at potential employers what with the casino in Borris being a fairly hot topic.
I love racing and sports betting, but I'm not sure I really understand the science of betting and trading in the way that Hemmingway was probably looking for. I suppose as well that this is really a hobby for me, a hobby I really enjoy and I wouldn't know how I'd react going at it full time, I got an unexpected boost with regard to my 'other career' and I've decided to pursue a more steady line of employment I suppose.
The European gambling law stuff is pretty interesting and it really makes a fella appreciate the choice we have here, the big gaming firms are going to be pushing for harmonisation of national laws to give the rest of Europe the choice we have here with betting exchanges and the like (and of course make themselves a lot of money), there is very little academic commentary in the area so I'm kind of trying to get in on the ground floor in a way, I hear that plenty of the interviewers for the firms love their racing as well so I'll live in hope.
Cheers for taking an interest anyway workrider

anything now is aftertiming I spose, but nothing that happened today makes Workforce less of an arc contender, SYT looks like a real mile and a quarter horse for me, I'd take in Irish champion and British( Ascot week after Arc) and then role the dice in BC classic for breeding immortality along with await the dawn. Jesus twas a great race 2day, I went to Limerick game and then saw Haye and Klit but Sandown bested the lot imo. HYaye's excuses were pathetic.

I should clarify, SYT is a big heavy topped horse and even though he has a daisy cutting action, I think he might just handle dirt, he reminds me of Denman in ways

Funny, media perception is of SYT as a giant, Willie Carson reckons it isn't the case, smaller than he thought. Ted walsh expected a tank when he saw Denman after his heart problem, said he was more light framed than he thought. What he made of a prime Denman as a Second season novice at leopardstown I do not know
