I'm still not the better of last years decision but the standard of refereeing is so below standard if you were to put it on par with the game it would be 2 levels below junior standard.

He didnt have a great game and the free at the end was very soft, however Orourke is going on and on about the first yellow that led to the red card, it wasnt for that foul per se but for persistant fouling.
What do they want? persistant fouling and the game gets ruined by cynical play or do you punish them and try and open up the game.
Refs are human and can have bad games as well, comments like i hope he gets killed are distasteful in the extreme!!

No big surprise. Refs have been favouring the 14 men for as long as I've watched football. One inter-county referee actually admitted he did a few years back. Along with that Gaelic football is practically impossible to referee. In every championship match there are over 100 fouls (according to the definitions in the rulebook)but the refs are expected to "apply common sense" and to "let the game flow". Which in effect means "make it up as you go along". It's a complete joke.

Spot on Ballaman. Get all the pullers/draggers/maulers/mullockers on yellows in the first 15 mins is what I say. Then we might get to see some football. O Gara knew he was on a yellow when he committed that stupid(and deliberate) foul. He deserved his red 100%. I cannot fathom what O Rourke is on about.

worse than last years injustice ..the ref simply wasnt up to it..where do they get the refs from?have they a hat of names and just pull one out?...thats how it looks to me..

Good job i'm not playing anymore ..would find it very hard to control myself ..training your nuts off all year and a " full of Himself " referee screw you just like that and you cant do anything about it....its only a matter of time before someone snaps and a refs jaw snaps shortly after....

Haven't seen the match but O'Gara absolutely walks into yellow cards
off the ball stuff, afters, backchat, clumsy fouls
I don't think he could go through a match without picking up a yellow, so he's a huge candidate to get 2, unless he's subbed early

Cwc i have to agree with you .....Dublin management made a huge mistake, should have withdrawn O'Gara after his yellow......just seems the Dubs have a huge desire to throw away games....had a good bet in Spoils 13/8 on but haunted to collect....doh i lost a few years ova them,,,,,,,oh thanks ref....owe yah a point....

Kildare folk must snap out of this "referee done us wrong" mentality. To hold Dublin to 1-12 was excellent, but against 14 men they were four points down going into extra time and a great but freak goal threw them an undeserved lifeline. Should beat Laois though and plenty to look forward to. Dublin must forget about O'Gara, put Connolly back at 14 and leave Fennell at midfield all the time. Defence looks sorted though Paul Brogan could be better than James McCarthy. It suits fine that everyone seems to think they were lucky, and while Wexford will certainly put it up to them, they should survive that too.
