I presume Naas would be pretty lively on Sunday night after the Derby and was thinking of heading for the night out.
Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Also, recommendations for somewhere decent to eat would be appreciated.

Prospero, Kildare is the place to be this week-end. Punchestown is Naas's week in the sun.

1) Naas

The food is good in the pub at the Kildare end of the town near Tully's but it's not a horsey pub.
I usually have a bite to eat in Lawlor's Hotel before racing in Naas and it's fine. €8 50 for the recession special is great value and it's good too.

The pub beside Paddy Power's is by far the best pub for sport and a cupla pints. They have all the sports on in there.

Sorry I can't put names on the two establishments.

2) Kildare

Now if you change your mind and stay in Kildare where I reckon the buzz will be electric the place for the nosebag is the Silken Thomas. It is by far the most lively for food in that town imo. It's always good too and they have three different bars. There are always racing personalitys to be seen around the town.

You mite even get a glimpse of workrider struttn around the town..........doh i didn't see him when I recently had a fine steak sambo with the trimmings in Silken Thomas.....Boyles have a fine shop on the Square also......but Kildare is a one horse town...much prefer the smaller Rathangan....a few miles east out the road from Cill Dara,,,,,,,,,,,,,
