RECOMMENDATION

Canford Cliffs to beat Frankel when they next meet,

3pts 6/4 Coral

BOHEMIANS got a hiding in Derry on Friday night but there were extenuating circumstances. Back the Gypsies each-way to win the FAI Cup at 9/1, half the odds to get to the final.

Bohs were given a favourable draw in the fourth round: a trip to Longford. Victory will bring them into the last eight, at which point Derry and at least three other Premier Division teams will be gone.

Pat Fenlon has less of a squad to work with this year but they should have beaten Rovers earlier this season, already have won in Sligo and are a match for any side.

RECOMMENDATION

Bohemians to win FAI Cup

1pt each-way at 9/1 (****)

LAY the victor at Wimbledon's men's tournament being a first-time winner at 6/5 on Betfair. The price should be longer and can offer a trading opportunity later on. Couple Roger Federer's price and Rafa Nadal's price and between them they are little longer than 4/6 to win. Realistically, Andy Murray (7/1) is still below their class, with hopes of a new winner resting on 4/1 chance Novak Djokovic.

RECOMMENDATION

Lay new winner of Wimbledon men's singles,

1pt at 2.2 (1.2pt liability, Betfair)

YEAR TO DATE

To a €10 stake: -€201.82

Always had respect for his opinions when he posted on here but the one that has me truly baffled is the Bohs for the Cup one. Bohs started the season well but their form has taken a nosedive in the last month and will continue to do so as the season goes on for one reason i.e. the lack of any depth in the squad so injuries and suspensions will hit them hard. The idea that they are a good bet to reach the final game of the season ,the Cup Final , is fanciful.

I've a lot of respect for his oppinion, that Wimbeldon bet sounds v shrewd to me.

The logic behind the tennis bet is good.
Since Nadal won his first slam in 2005, himself and Federer have won all bar 3 of the last 24!
Of the two who won those, Del Potro won`t win this. So you`re left with Djokovic, who is 4/1 plus and has never reached the final. Unless you believe Murray can win, which is becoming increasingly difficult to. The rest aren`t up to it.

The logic behind a possible clash between Frankel and CC is harder to fathom. Are bets refunded if injury means they don`t meet? Surely CC would be 6/4 to beat him on the day anyway!

And the logic behind my team winning the FAI cup, is non existent!

Interesting TF. Big difference of opinion.
I see bets are void in that market if they don`t meet.
Ground would be a big factor. A wet Goodwood would surely suit the 3yo with 8lb less.
Who knows?

Will be some race. I think CC is improving and I don't know what to make of Frankel after the last day even allowing for the poor ride by TPQ.

Johnny is one of the good guys,he is not down 200 points read it again, there are guys tipping on racing post/tv who wouldn't have the balls to post p/loss,it would be much much worse.I would imagine they are down an awful lot more, cascarino is an embarrassment, couch eddie the shoe I could go on and on,Segal doesn't post a profit or loss either I wonder why?

Eddie The Shoe has been in the game for donkey's years longer than most.

A poor choice of comparison.

Agree with Golden Fleece dont forget he returned large profits in the previous years.Despite the whines of the disloyal Giant Strides, Bohemians won tonight so winning the Cup might not be as fanciful as you think.

He is hardly being disloyal in giving his honest assessment of their chances?

I would not know enough to assess the bet myself.
