The goal was legitimate.

The fact that it was harder to call does not excuse the incorrect decision.

Brian Farrell, who is not a dirty player, was sent off. That was also a peculiar decision.

Meath never gets a fair shake from the officials.

i happen to know the ref and his son! syl is known for doing everythin by the rules, not afraid to use the cards by all accounts. as for rickie, he didnt have the benefit of studio analysisSilly

Disgraceful decisions once again at Headquarters. It was a genuine goal scored by Meath. What makes it a laughing stock was the fact the referee over ruled his umpires! What is the purpose of these umpires? ? The square ball rule is a rule that no one can define, the GAA have just left it hanging in the balance and I can't wait 'til something like this happens in the last minute of an All Ireland final. As for the Brian Farrell sending off, it was a yellow card offence for both players, handbags stuff maybe not even worthy of a card. I'm from the same club as Brian Farrell, he is not at all dirty, an honest footballer. If there is anyone who should be getting the sin bin is Syl Doyle.

Meath ain't fit, they look like a team of boozers to me, if they had the dedication Kildare had, they'd be in the shakeup.
Report thefly10 June 6, 2011 10:29 PM BST
True neill d, Kildare were super super fit, the superior fitness showed when things level out in the second half. Meath have better forwards and are a better all round footballing team but the way things are gone now in the GAA fitness is the key. 'Rugby league style' ulster counties were the first to introduce this kind of play, the great Armagh team under Joe Kiernan, Down were a prime example last year and Kieran McGeeney has brought this to the Kildare set up. Hunting in packs, swarming the defence, short handpassing, breaking in 2 and 3 at 100m p/h all aspects of game. Credit to Kildare, if they can sharpen up infront of goal they will take some beating. On a change of note, Syl Doyle would want to take a look at himself. Rubbish referee.

syl was my coach as a young lad, still refs local games and is always the same, never lets the game flow as it should! hes a real sound guy tho, as are all the family!
