How are owners putting up this girl? The likes of Mark Fahey and Pauline Ryan are more than capable of holding their own and yet this girl because of 'mammy' seems to be getting all the rides. She has cost the yard two, if not three bumpers in the last week.

In fairness Pauline isn't much better not saying Kate is outstanding by any means but at least she's a competent rider never seen her get beat on one that clearly should have won plus she is claiming (7) for a reason

Montablo, Pauline is in a different league to Kate Harrington. Can use whip competently with both right and left hands (refer to Galzig @ Killarney). And offers assistance without the stick. I gather Jenari's owner wouldn't stand for it.

I don't think she did much wrong there tbf ,beatan 3 an a half lengths,as previous poster says she is claiming 7lb for a reason-u have to factor it into price.As for ur other point nepotism will always exist in racing.

Im like one of those late maturing four year olds. I have moved out of handicaps and listed races and am ready for the step up to group 1. I would make an exception for her. She is listed class at best.

Kate Harrington apart from being a little honey is a fine rider,she does not have the strength in a finish of the top amateurs but she doesnt give young bumper horses hard races.This is vital for big stables you dont want horses ruined by hard races early on in their career,punters want the opposite.Much as i admire Nina Carberry she has at times given young horses very hard races,like all champions she has that will to win that can lead to overuse of the whip.
