State of stewarding in this country, I know is the Turf Club's territory, but it's shocking. Rotten to the core.

Not fully sure about this but it appears a Tote customer submitted an ambiguous Jackpot they rang him to clarify but the first leg was over so he submitted a new Jackpot. He banked on the first leg, an outsider that had already triumphed, and then went the field in the next three races thus guaranteeing him a winning line.
This happened on a much larger scale thirty odd years ago. There was no Jackpot carry over for ages so after investigation they discovered an employee was stalling Jackpot tickets until the first two legs were over,he then went banker banker field field guaranteeing a dividend. He was caught when a private detective trailed this prolific Jackpot winner to his home and found him to be a Tote employee.

A tote customer had a €600 perm not entered till afterwards. As a result at Leopardstown they said there was a carry over of something like 40 grand to Roscommon. Next day they decided it was won!!
