Heading to the match on Wednesday and the traffic restrictions are an absolute nightmare and real headache and all for someone who wants to come and see our beautiful country. But you know as a people it is sad to see that we must go to this extreme to protect this old age granny. We come out of it looking poorly, what the other Europeans must think of us that are here for the match? That we basically have to shut down our captital city while the Queen is here in order to protect her from other Irish people. I think as a nation we have had better moments.

BTW some effort needed to get to see this match what bright spark give the ok for the visit, they are lucky it was not 2 teams capable of trouble that are playing.

Yeah this would never happen in another city, for instance the city of London was totally open to traffic during the Royal Wedding. Im sure when she goes to other places she gets the same security.

Good point about having the visit at the same time as the match though

Unless she wanted to go to the match because she presumed that at least one Premiership team would be playing!

Whats not right is this bomb business and the way some are going on, your moan about traffic restrictions is just plain ridicolous.

Presumably, she has a full diary of engagements and it was an unavoidable clash. Unfortunate that it coincides with the biggest game of ball ever played here, but thems the breaks.
The single most important thing for Ireland is no lunatics get anywhere throwing a wrecking ball at this historic week. It would be far more than a huge embarrassment.

Satellite I think u have a fair point about the bomb business- of course this shouldn’t happen. I for one hope she doesnt get as much as a cold over here. People in this city do have a right though to moan if they wish about commuting all week. It may not affect you but (maybe it does)this affects thousands of Dubliners and also some business are at risk due to loss of earnings if building have to evacuate for any reason. Taxi drivers, van drivers are all affected due to this and it’s just a huge inconvenience really for alot of people and for what really??. This money could be far better spent rebuilding the country IMO

I agree with most of that Manmouse, what i was getting at is that i don't think it would be any different in any other city she is visiting.

Of course it is Sat Flight as a person who has lived in cities the Queen has visited before i never seen anything like this actually not even close. Obviously they all step up security but nothing like this large scale operation, hardly a garda left where i live. Actually i remember in one place i forgot she was there it ran so smoothly. I feel sorry for the Portuguese coming in what they must think is beyond me !

You were the one in favour of the visit RF? When I said it's pointless regards the cost and inconvenience caused you called me a sinner. Strange.

Squigs i can't remember but i take you're word on it and if i did and this was you're sole gripe and not a republican agenda i do take it back mate !!!!

Honestly don't have an issue with her coming over but when i realise the disruption it has caused it should never have been sanctioned.
