Did not see the Indo on Monday, anybody know if the RP is producing the goalpost this year?
Anyway looking through the early matches and i can't believe the some of the prices are that short, Sligo are as short as 1/7 to beat Leitrim? Sligo were beaten by Clare the other week in a challenge game by 4 points i think. I know they performed poorly in the league but even so surely the price is not right. It will be Leitrim +6 points, a big enough handicap to overcome considering Sligo have no Johnny Davey or more important no David Kelly. Longford only beat them by a point but Leitrim outscored them, they beat Roscommon by a point.
I think Donegal -5 points may be a bet, no reason in my view why Antirm should improve as much 9 points, and i think those comments by the Antrim manager will fire up the Donegal lads who should not be lacking confidence following their div 2 league win, although i do agree that they seem to be ultra defensive and not easy on the eye at all. Donegal handicap price is probably fair enough.
BTW anybody know what the situation with Fermanagh is? Still fighting up there?

Two time All-Star Barry Owens has returned from long term injury to lead Fermanagh for the 2011 season. New Fermanagh manager John O’Neill has handed the Teemore club man the captaincy on his return from a number of long term injuries. Owens helped Fermanagh to the 2008 Ulster Final having undergoing heart surgery at the start of the year, but he suffered a crucial ligament injury in the final replay against Armagh. Owen’s hit a further setback when he underwent further knee surgery at the end of 2009 and spent 2010 rehabilitating. New manager John O’Neill has not finalised his team for the opening game on Saturday night against UUJ but will be using the McKenna Cup to try out many new players. |
