400k i heard
Report bobbuilder May 4, 2011 11:31 AM BST
not bad for a horse gifted to them by the arabs cos he was gonna be no good on the flat
Report Patsy Indy Cline May 4, 2011 11:41 AM BST
15 k to 400k is not a bad rate of return in these straitened times. Good day's work for the preferred trainer of the "Just for Men " brigade.

lay of the week;soft in a battle
Report revedesivola May 4, 2011 1:28 PM BST
have you evidence of that bob? has he folded under pressure before?
Report GANT007 May 4, 2011 1:48 PM BST
He might not even have to come off the bridle today................
Report kavvie May 4, 2011 2:03 PM BST
i was thinking of laying this today but feel too many are jumping on the bandwagon and writing it off.as a result its a big price on here.as gant says it might win without coming off the bridle.comments like soft in battle have no basis.he might be but he hasnt been in a battle yet!!

400k seems a massive amount of money for a bumper winner. I say anything over 250k was too much.

Well done Kris Weld all tax free as well. Good spot young fella
Report GANT007 May 4, 2011 2:43 PM BST
Winning pointers were sold for £250k and £230k stg a few weeks ago and they were not the top of the tree.
Report bobbuilder May 4, 2011 3:17 PM BST
only those with dirty money can afford though

I heard 250k at the Curragh on Sunday.

After all he has a flat pedigree which doesn't not shout Gold Cup or Champion Hurdle. Also he hasn't proven jumping skills like those point to pointers/ bumper horses that were purchased for 250k and 230k recently.

Dermot said he jumps like a stag at home in the quotes in the racing post.

ran a great race today..id say jp happy whatever he paid..it looks a proper horse...well able to battle in spite of comments here!!

Savage butchery on show there, particulary from Patrick Mullins, the close up on RTE revealed many of his ferocious whip strokes were misssing the rump and landing on the horses ribcage, I'm not anti whip by any means but that was an awful sight, not the first or won't be the last horse to get butchered by Mullins, McNamara wasn't exactly ecomomical with his whip either.
Report soapp May 4, 2011 6:43 PM BST
Nothing like the savagery of Jason Maguire on a very tired horse after a gruelling 4.5 miles in the midday sun at aintree last month.
Mullins had him in the catbird seat and produced once they straightened up. A few taps for a near 50k pot after only 2 miles is ok in my book.
Report dj876 May 4, 2011 6:44 PM BST
yes soapp totally agree great race
Report silvergreaser May 4, 2011 6:49 PM BST
More than a few strokes soapp, his whip style leaves a lot to be desired.
Report Bigwillystyle May 4, 2011 7:15 PM BST
Frank Berry must be pocketing some money off these trainers wit the dross he buys.
Report paddywhacker1970 May 4, 2011 9:05 PM BST
Give over with the predictable ****, Bigwilly. Fair enough, Frank buys plenty of rubbish, but to imply that Waaheb fits into that catagory is just plain stupid. He's finished a close second in the best bumper run all year after cutting out a lot of the donkey work. He's a cracking prospect and if you put him through the sales ring tomorrow he'd make at least 350k given what the point-to-pointers have been making lately.

Regarding the whip use, hitting a horse on the flanks is self defeating as a fair proportion of horses will curl up if hit there. Bad jockeyship IMO
