Every now and again the best make mistakes and in the words of Horace even Homer nods.Today in the first race at Fairyhouse it was Ruby Walsh turn.He knows that Blackstairmountain is like Bigwillystyle a quitter and yet he took it up at the last duly forged a length clear and promptly downed tools,i presume he just wasnt thinking because of all the jockeys riding Ruby is perfect at codding these horses along and pouncing late,all he had to do was wait til after the last and pounce 50 yards from the line and Voler La Vedette would have no time to rally and Blackstairmountain no time to give up.
When Rick beat Blackstairmountain at Punchestown poor Paul Townend was roundly abused and armed with the knowledge gleaned from that ride he would definitely have won on him today.

Some truth in what you say but if Ruby came late and just failed.....well sometimes one cant win
What about the time he downed tools against luska lad for ruby?
3rd time he's been beaten at 1.01 - just not one to trust imo

Ruby wasnt great on Kerb Appeal or Askmeroe either but we now know the reason he wasnt himself yesterday,a baby daughter.
