Easily the best National undercard I`ve seen. Not before time either.

agree giant ....maybe the mare voler in the first will be a banker for many and raitlin in the novice for others ..but its a really hard card with no end of season feel about it...well done to fairyhouse for coming up with such a compeditive card...

i like voler la vedette in the first. rathlin must be a decent horse as he seems to be consistent unlike most of rothwells runners. he has only something like a 3% strike rate with his hurdlers. imagine if that stable was in form you could nearly back rathlin with confidence. he might be even better than hes already showing. still in saying that he ran well at cheltenham and beat sicilian secret who franked the form yesterday. ill have a small ew bet on prima vista who has a 6lb pull with dare to doubt for 5l beating having made mistakes when they last met.

I`m not a fan of VLV but it`s hard to find much to beat her.
Might try Gimlis Rock ew if there`s any interest in it. Rathlin looks solid especially with DTDs penalty. Lady Hillingdon ran really well at Exeter last week. Another with ew possibilities. Good luck, and to anybody going there, have a great day. |

Really like Blackstairmountain in the opener - any thoughts? Came from a long way back in the County but just didn't get up the hill as well as his stablemate, tired then in the final 75 yards to be seventh. Once touted as a Champion Hurdle contender and should have no issues with the good ground.
By:
You could be spot on with blackstairsmountain......it will like the good ground better than most.........just think the fav. VLV would need it alot softer but it has been backed............a fair bit of water was put on the track last night.
By:
just about to head there now.
been years since i been on easter mon. hoping that its not busy and that most are there for the racing. tough card ,cracker opener .... think ill oppose vlv with blackstair or meades. national is wide open. ill let the kids pick the winner of that , in fact i might let them steer most of the day :) rathlin may be my punt of the day , d russell always does me a good turn at this meeting. |
By:
re - the 1st , looks like meades horse isnt the one.
they are fairly backing VLV. |
By:
donnas palm would want it a fair bit deeper.

14.35 Blackstairsmountain
15.10 Taking Stock 17.30 Kilflora 18.00 For Bill (ground a worry). |
By:
2.35 - Son Amix ew. Could improve for the good ground again with his best run of the season coming on good ground in Cheltenham. Drop in trip should not be to much of a negative as he'd run well enough around todays trip on soft ground .I'll take him to run into a place but agree that VLV will be very tough to beat.
3.45 - Rathlin should really win. Everything in its favour. Excellent run in the Supreme and not facing the strongest line up. Be concerned that Dare to Doubt went out so quickly the last time on ground that she'd won on before. |
By:
345 fairy
Rathlin is a banker imo, trading at around 6/4 if willie mullins/gordon elliot trained wud be odds on,but he looks consistent will love the ground and was beaten 15 lengths in one of the strongest novice hurdles in a long time behind ....al ferof, spirit son, sprinter sacre, cue card and recession proof. |
By:
Fookitanyway - Dare To Doubt bled last time out, Rathlin looks a banker.
Very good looking bumper too - fav should win but also like the look of two experienced pointers Commanchewardance and Done En Dusted (joint top rated) in the race. Good racing at Cork today too if you're into HC's and Points which I am - Euro Farmer was overpriced at 14's earlier and so too is Magical Mother at 12/1 or so IMO. |
By:
Thanks D'Anjou didn't know that. Rathlin looks nailed on and as dj says up above if he was trained by Mullins or Elliot he'd be odds on.

You would think Ruby would know at this stage about this horse after the last
![]() |
By:
Twice Ruby has been caught at the Easter meeting with the same horse. You think he'd knoiw by now!
By:
A right so and so.
By:
do you think he looks like a horse who would benefit from not being hit?
By:
looks like a horse who would benefit from being in front just an inch from the line.
By:
There's an element of damned if you do/don't in waiting til the run in but this horse is an exception to that rule and Ruby should
have waited,it was car crash TV. |
By:
Fooking hell ,rathlins jumping fell apart ,u were getting the price cos of the trainer.
