Race 1) The Real Article. (Nap) This one was one of the better bumper horses last season. Eddie O'Grady is back among the winners and this one should take all the beating.
Race 2) Oneeightofamile. (NB)John Kiely was very unlucky not to be back among the winners at Gowran on Sunday. He has a very talented hurdler who reverts to the flat. Leading jockey Pat Smullen has been booked.
Race 3) No selection. These 0 to 65's do my head in. I will leave it to the shrewdies to find one.
Race 4) Raggletagglegypsy. This one has started to show a bit of form now that the ground has dried out and should give Shay Barry a good spin.
Race 5) Burnfort Girl. Joe Holly has been knocking on the door of late and maybe this oft times placed performer can get his head in front.
Race 6) Western Bound.(Treble) Gordon Elliot's gelding was a close 3rd to his multiple winning stable companion at Navan recently and deserves a winning turn.
Race 7) Faha. Derek O'Connor rarely rides bumpers these days, so watch for market moves for this John Kiely mare.

Any idea what price the real article will be? Anything round evens would look a gift.
5.00 - The Real Article a winner of 4 out of 5 starts will take all the beating on ground that will suit but i will be opposing e/w with Greenbelt Star stepping back up on trip and on ground that will suit - a dual bumper winner during the summer on quick ground - finished 5th to Fosters Cross in a decent looking 2m maiden at Navan in October (Hidden Universe just over 2l in front) and was beat by the minimum margin at Dndalk lto over 12f- Will take on the fav with this fella if an e/w price
5.30 Reach For the Stars landed a nice touch at Limerick 2 weeks ago and should go close again but End of the Affair ran a creditable effort on her seasonal bow(traded 2/1 i/r) before lack of fitness told and i would expect her to go close here with that run under her belt - improved massively for her 1st run last season(finished in the money the next 4 times in a row) the ground will be fine, a mark of 86 looks fair(2nd off 88 last summer) with Sam James takin 5lbs off(had 2 winners last weekend) - decent claims in this
6.00 - Not often we get 3, 2mile flat races to start a card but we do here and what a horrible race this is to sort out
Formal Bid at least brings some winning form to the table which is more than can be said for a lot of these, winning at Dundalk over 2m last time out - a tentative choice in a hail Mary race
6.35 - Looks to be all about Domination here, who i fancied for the Fred Winter at Cheltenham - never knew he was DQ'd for his easy win last time - should be easy compensation here in a race that lacks any strength and depth - No bet at the likely price tho
7.05 Nap - Sweet Spirit - this one went into my notebook last time to back when it stepped back down in trip
Ran a crackin race over 3m last time going from 80/1 BSP to around 7/1 i/r before being outstayed coming to the last by 2 horses who were in decent form
The winner Abbey Glen had won the time before also and the second Kellystown Jack was coming off a second the run before also -
Steps down to 2m4f tomorrow and i think she rates a decent e/w bet here to open her account for Sean Osborne
7.35 - Drumbledore a former ptp winner could be interesting here off 95 in his first handicap with Robbie Colgan taking over the riding duties - small e/w bet
8.05 nb - Bulletproof a ptp winner at Dromahane was well backed on debut at Limerick but clearly didnt run to expectations when trailing in well beaten, worth another chance here e/w in what looks an average bumper

Drumbledore in the 7.35 could be interesting..........Robbie turned down 2 rides at Ludlow (1 live chance) to ride this horse.

The Referrals Committee, Neville O’Byrne (in the Chair), John Powell and Hugh Ferguson met at the Turf Club, The Curragh, Co. Kildare on Monday, 21st March 2011, to consider a report from BHP Laboratories in Limerick stating that the biological fluid sample taken from “Domination (GB)”, trained by Charles Byrnes, following its win in the Clonmel Maiden Hurdle at Clonmel on 17th February 2011, was found to contain Caffeine which, under Rule 20(v) and Regulation R14, is a prohibited substance. The trainer accepted the results of the “A” sample and the “B” sample was not tested.
Evidence was heard from Dr. Thomas Barragry and from Charles Byrnes. In his evidence Dr. Thomas Barragry stated that caffeine is a stimulant which affects the central nervous system and the respiratory system. It is prohibited at all levels. He said it is not a specific veterinary drug and could be included in mixtures or tonics given to horses. He also said it could arise from feed, although in these circumstances you would generally expect a metabolite to be present.
In his evidence, Charles Byrnes said he had no idea how the horse tested positive for caffeine. He said that he had feed samples analysed by his feed supplier all of which came back negative. He said that none of the tonics given to his horses contained caffeine.
Andrew Coonan, on behalf of Charles Byrnes, said that his client accepted the findings of the laboratory.
Having considered the evidence, the Committee fined Charles Byrnes €1,000 and ordered that he make a contribution of 50% towards the Turf Club costs.
The Committee also disqualified “Domination (GB)” from first place and ordered the records be amended to read as follows:
First: Couleur De La Loi
Second: Rough Times
Third: Abialbright
Fourth: Sounds of Thunder (GB)
The case was presented to the Committee by Conal Boyce, Wilkinson & Price Solicitors, Naas, Co. Kildare. Charles Byrnes was represented by Andrew Coonan, Coonan Cawley Solicitors, Naas, Co. Kildare.

End Of The Affair (5.30) ..Doesn't win that often but has been knocking on the door running creditably well last season. Shes fit from his seasonal reappearance at Leopardstown. Should be winning off this mark. Good jockey on board. Mr Clyde may be one to watch in his next outing.
Credit Box (19:05) should go well back at a track he likes and a return to handicap will suit, was placed at the course off this mark over 2m last May and should appreciate the step up to 2 1/2m here, currently 16's with SJ and Hills.

Sam James's claim seems to be at Chris Hayes expense.
Watch Martin's Sporadic in the 7 05. I laid it at 8 not too long ago. 7 it is now. It's unusual to see Robbie Moran as the job jockey. Maybe it's a steering job or they want a better price.

Burnfort Girl seemed to run on well enough there when the leaders were out of sight!
Missed the start, was Sweet Spirit left at the start of just outpaced - tailed off wen i tuned in and was done a sh for 4th - must watch the replay wen its up
