Slating the race, it's the greatest race on earth, the only mistake they made was not having screen for the stricken horse. Horses have always died, never nice to see but without racing they would not be alive. Why some racing people are so offended by something that when they follow racing they sign up to and know can happen is beyond me.

I don't even think its the greatest horse race run in the last month tbh.
Is it not a more general public outcry?
I was in Tescos this morning and I overheard an employee saying how appalled she was at the sight of it.
I still haven`t heard why there was no screen around Ornais, and why the Beeb decided to show an aerial view of Dooneys gate!? Madness.
The GN is a great spectacle, not a great race. The sight of equine fatalities marred the regular spectacle and with better management it could have been avoided.

I agree entirely with the original poster.Horses are killed on Irish racecorses and Point to Points regularly its a sad by product of racing but with people acting like prissy maiden aunts calling for the Grand National to be banned ye should all step back and follow where this will all go.The natural progression is to ban National Hunt racing and surely all on here do not want that.
