i habe listened to some bull about ruby the last few weeks about not being a good guy.
i have two experiences with him at down royal. the first day was on rock hard ground and one of the claimers had to go to hospital. his only concern was the jock and he got his sister to get number to ring him, i know the down royal doc well. Secondly after a novemebr meeting he stood selling calenders for the injured jocks fund.
I dont know if he is a gent or not, but he knows his position in the jocks room and he shows an example i hope others will follow.
Punters are not his concern, and rightly so, but his fellow jocks. True sportsman.

ty wild - and did u notice today his first concern was about paddy mullins - we are lucky to have such a brilliant jockey in our time as irish punters - enjoy rather than complain - it makes some punters almost sound english

in ireland we are supposed to supports our heroes. english papers have a history of putting knife in. that is exactly what it means. in word cup 2002 harte missed pen against spain - no one bad mouthed him. when an english player does something similar he is slagged to the limits and then ends up doing pizza adverts.
Being irish means respecting our sportsmen. |
