always a lucky race for me ...red alligator ,red marauder, ben nevis ,etc ...funny i never backed red rum ...still as its just a bit of fun lets kick on...
for a interest and lets be honest who dosen't have a bet in the national ..ok so a few of the pros on here might disagree ...just a small reflection maybe i'm wrong ..seem to remember backing red rum as a 2yo when it won at aintree as a 2yo was it the same year red alligator won his national, maybe the stats men on here might help with that ...i was visiting my father who was in hospital in colindale in london and when i told him i'd backed the winner of national he was not amused ..said it would all end up badly ...he was right ...back to this years national ..having £20  on hello bud @ 60/1 he ran a cracker last year and the better ground just might help him last it out ..the 2nd of my bets is comply or die @ 85/1 on here ..past winner of the race and although a bit long in the tooth he has done the business before ..so enjoy the day everyone and good luck tomorrow....

Workrider your memory is spot on Red Rum ridden by Lester Piggott dead heated in a two year old race at Aintree on the same day Red Alligator won the National ridden by Brian Fletcher.

can you imagine the poor inmates ...thickster gets their medication ready increases the dose sits them down in front of the telly after 4pm ...tells them he has put their money on a 4mile novice hurdle.....they start to get a little worried as 40 novice's jump what appears to them to be rather large hurdles...their anxiety increases as faller after faller  hits the ground ..looking towords their night nurse with incredulous eyes they plead with thickster to phone the bookie and cancel the bet ...thickster futher increases the dosage till all of the inmate now belive they are watching the epsom derby...as they approach beachers for the second time the commentator says ..again the inmates look  to their guardian for conformation that its a novice hurdle ....its the two 12 and 13 yos leading the field ..at this point thickster unplugs the telly and starts reading them a bedtime story ...about nama......night night thickster...
