Even with the deposit guarantee from the state is it safe to keep funds in Irish owed banks? There are a few smart cookies on here and just wondering where would they suggest bar under the mattress !!

Rabo, are the simplest and safest place to leave the money, not an amazing rate but definitely safe.

Danske Bank (through their NIB subsidiary) or RBS (through their Ulster Bank subisdiary). Rabo are safe but they have hinted they are leaving the Irish market.

I'd be very surprised if Rabo did pull out, they're profitable and have fck all overheads. ACC are tits deep in bad depth and they'll need Rabo to get in the deposits to balance this.

A more pertinent question might be in what currency to store your wealth?  Hard to have much faith in the Euro as a store of value given the challenges it faces.
