If he can't do the weight in a maiden on the second weekend of the season, then he ain't long for the game is he?

For all that he may be talented.

Richie Forristal had an article on this in the Indo today. In it he said Joseph has ridden 9 times this season carrying overweight winning twice. He said this is not fair on punters.

My own view for what it's worth is that if this was any other apprentice the stewards would be much tougher. One would think that Halley or the new Doctor would be recommending to the Stewards that Joseph not be allowed to take any rides at less than 9 3 as I think it is 9 stone that he is going to scale at the moment.

This has to be his last season riding on the flat. Great experience on the flat can make him into a great NH Jockey..Don't be suprised if A P O' Brien stocks up his yard with NH Horses. Dual licensed trainer ;)

This is nepotism at its worst. The stewards ought to take some decisive action.

aob is entitled to do what he likes. ted walsh, nigel twiston davies, colin tizzard, etc etc do the same, theres nothing wrong with itin the slightest. if gary moore has the choice of 2 jocks, say ryan moore and micky fenton for a valuable race, whats he going to do...?

Well, If I had the choice between Johnny Murtagh and Joe O Brien I know who I would choose. Aidan O Brien, last season consistently favoured his son ahead of a Champion jockey. Thats not very clever in my book.Sad

Carrying overweight 9 times this early into the season is a complete joke.
